Title: United We Stand: The Kaeneis Interview

The Harold interviews:

Harold: Well thank you Kaeneis for agreeing to do this interview. I know you're a busy man.

Kaeneis: "I find that if something is important, one will make the time."

Harold: Now you're a bit of a mystery as far as SFT goes, you've been in SFT a while now, but no one really knows anything about you, is that intentional or unintentional?

Kaeneis: "Knowledge is power. Its an archaic saying, but quite apt even in the twenty first century. The more one understands, the more one controls. By keeping details of myself, and those around me shrouded, I can be sure I will fall through outside folly only, and not something I have needlessly brought on myself. However I am not above using knowledge to advantage. I would never have formed such a partnership with Lucas Balkan, and UNITY would never have risen had I kept all cards close to my chest."

Harold: Since you brought up Unity, I have a few questions about that, why exactly was Unity formed? Was it formed to rival Holocaust? Or was it formed to create a stable in which others that share your views could come together? Please shed some light, Unity is a big a mystery as you and Balkan.

Kaeneis: Throughout history, intelligence has allowed mere men to transcend legend. Free-thinking and logical, they have taken a ruling place over their lesser cousin and ruled with power and glory. Yet these individuals were often overtaken, forced down into nothingness by the seething mass of the ignorant. But, what if perchance these individuals of intelligence and knowledge banded together? They would be powerful indeed. For each member of UNITY, of which three stand now, brings with them a remarkable and.... abstract way of thinking. Seperately intelligent, combined we are nothing short of genius, though it is without arrogance I say this. We seek power through knowledge. We are not interested in petty rivalries with selfish factions such as Holocaust."

Harold: Well if that's true, if you're not interested in petty rivalries, then why align yourself with Shadow, he is the most powerful individual in SFT? Does not aligning with him pretty much shove Unity right smack in the middle of an all out war?

Kaeneis: "Sometimes, one cannot alone prevail. Though combined we boast the resourcefulness and ability of countless others, we will not lurk in shadows where the shining light awaits us. In other words, we had but two options. We could bide our time further, allowing others to gain power with their petty games, or we could deal directly with an individual who boasts possibly the most knowledge of the entire SFT roster, Shadow. It is far easier to deal with Lucifer's minions than the dark lord himself, to coin... Kaeneis: a phrase."

Harold: Well Kaeneis some say you've just signed a deal with the devil himself. In your short time here you've already managed to hold the World Title, is that your ultimate goal is to regain that title or are there other motives at work for you? What is your true or ultimate goal?

Harold: Well Kaeneis some say you've just signed a deal with the devil himself. In your short time here you've already managed to hold the World Title, is that your ultimate goal is to regain that title or are there other motives at work for you? What is your true or ultimate goal?

Kaeneis: "Again, I link back to my pursuit of knowledge. As Word Champion, I stood at the summit of a mountain many climb, but few reach to celebrate. Though my time was short, I am more than pleased with my performance. I defeated the very capable Seth Dryden, and were it not for the unpleasant intervention of Fireball, I might very well continue to be champion as we discuss now. Yet things move onwards, and though confusion now reigns over the departure of my opponent, I have a scheduled Intercontinental title....

Kaeneis: Match. UNITY will force others to accept our teachings, or fall. Only the strongest can resist, and resistance is futile. Though cliched, a term strikes me now which describes it best. "He who has the gold makes the rules."

Harold: Lets talk a bit about your history if you'll allow. Where did you get your start in wrestling, what federations did you hail from before landing in SFT? Inquiring Minds want to know.

Kaeneis: "Before SFT, I did not reside in the United States. Obviously, it is not difficult to work out I am English, and I do not enjoy especially being in the supposed "Land of opportunity". I began wrestling shortly after my seventeenth birthday, purely athletic in nature, and a far cry from the work I now take to the ring. Of wrestling federations, I have been a member of only one whose name still remains recognized. The European Wrestling & Athletics Federation, or EWAF. I held their Continental Championship... Briefly. There is little else to tell, bar that one day I shall once more return homewards. Though I do not feel that time is soon."

Harold: There is an uncomfortable feeling many seem to have around you, many say that in the backstage area you're not one to really be a team player, do you see yourself as an outcast in the lockerooms? Or do you feel that you don't have to be part of the backstage cliqs in order to accomplish your goals?

Kaeneis: "Too many feel that roles should be assigned in an industry where only the unique survive. I am not at Strike Fantasy Towers to lead a lockeroom of wrestling talent. I am not in the business to teach youngsters "the ropes". I am here because it serves my purpose, nothing more and nothing less. There is no "team" to me. Only those who are pathetic and weak, who gladly hand their fate to another because they are too weak to decide their own course rely on a team."

Harold: Wow strong words, so you're basically saying you're not one of the lambs to be led away.

Harold: My next question is a simple one.

Harold: This involves your alliance with Shadow. Do you trust him? And on the other side can he trust you?

Kaeneis: "I think, through the majority of history as a whole, and the weakness of the Human race generally, trust is a foolish term. It implies an emotional bond, even though one could claim otherwise exists. It implies some sort of ritualistic promise where none exists. We assist Shadow because he can assist us. UNITY will not put itself into a position as to help the very power that might with its hidden left hand strike out at us whilst our back is turned. If there is to be betrayal, and war, then... Kaeneis: It will be war to the knife, and to the hilt."

Harold: Some people who've been around a while, they're forecasting a war, a war that will divide the federation into 2 factions, a war that could culminate in a match to end all matches, where the 2 sides face off, those who which to claim power for themselves, and those that only wish to overthrow the power that already exists, if the end should come, where will Unity stand?

Kaeneis: "An interesting question. You speak of an Armageddon, a final, apocalyptic battle in which only one victor, for all his loss and agony can emerge. Surely it would be one of the grandest lotteries of all time? To pick the winning side, for fear of losing be the end of all that one has worked to hard to achieve. For UNITY, the answer is a simple one. We will stand aloof. Even if we were to line up with Shadow, and his minions, we are not lining up as a group. We are lining up because it serves our common... Interests, do not think that because Shadow has remained quiet, he also thinks of us as a family. He realizes the methods at work just as we do. When the final confrontation reaches its peak, we shall become victorious, or we shall plunge into the darkened depths of utter failure. Only time can provide a definite answer, and without a master, we can but wait for it to show us."

Harold: Well Kaeneis I will say this, this has got to be perhaps the strangest interview I have ever conducted, and you are as big a mystery as when we began. I thank you nonetheless for doing this interview with me.

Kaeneis: "You are welcome. Though mystery is simply a more romantic term for the unknown, in my own unique experience."
