| Title: Interviewing the monster, the Megan The Monster Interview.. | |
|
A Harold interview:
Harold: Ok today I'm joined by Megan the Monster, who has made a return to SFT like so many, but unlike others she’s not alone. Megan thanks for sitting down with me and doing this interview.
Megan: No Problem, my pleasure.
Harold: Ok first question that I know my readers want asked. Where were you all this time you were away from SFT and what were you doing?
Megan: I was working on television appearances and just raising my daughter in France. I was basically enjoying life without any obligations other then my daughter and my husband.
Harold: Who is your husband, he's had parts in your promos but we know virtually nothing about him.
Megan: My husband is a former World Champion in PWSF, Hudson 'Squid' King. We met there, had a short relationship and things just tore us apart. His brother and tag-partner died, his mother past away. I was moving up in the world... Then I needed him, he was meant to be my one true love and found him, though under some sorry circumstances. We got married and are very happy. He's my daughter's father in my eyes.
Harold: Well I didn’t want to bring up your daughter but it’s unavoidable, is Shadow her biological father or not? Inquiring minds want to know.Theres some debate as to who is the real father.
Megan: I knew it was only a matter of time. I don't know who Nelly's biological father is; it went up in flames - literally - a long time ago. As if stands right now, Sebastian has visiting rights anytime he wants and the same goes for Shadow, he just has to ask. But as far as the answer goes... I don't know who the real father is and I like that way. Hudson is her father, straight out and that's the way it's going to stay.
Harold:: Well still it must be weird, coming back to SFT a place you have such a "tainted" past with, not just the fed but with its owner and some of its roster. How did it feel to come back to SFT? And how is it working for Shadow again knowing you were once his lover and possibly your baby's father?
Megan: In my time away, I learned to forgive and forget. I came here not to settle scores or anything like that. I came here to fill my time and do things I never did. As far as Shadow goes, our relationship is fine; it's called a professional relationship. He is my boss and I am his employee. It doesn't go past that. I'm hoping he knows that. I feel no different about Shadow then I did two years ago. He'll always be in my heart, like all my former loves, but the love I thought I once felt is now simply admiration
Megan: I'm very happy and excited to be back. I couldn't wait to make my debut.
Harold:: Now now Megan, be honest, its not the least bit uncomfortable having Shadow your former boyfriend/lover/everything be all ownery, I know he is professional as you are, but you've seen his real human side, a side few see, and now to him you're like anyone else, doesn’t that bother you in the least? And now he’s married with a baby as well, seeing that doesn’t eat at you? Since your return he's said maybe 10 words to you, granted more than others get but still wouldn’t you think he'd have more to say?
Megan: I'm happy for him. I happy to see him so happy. What I saw of him, I will keep in my heart forever and yes, sometimes I do see him a tad bit differently, but not very often. It doesn't eat at me, no, not in the least. What we had was what it was and for what it was, when it was it was great. If he has more to say, he knows how to find I and he can say it but I don't let it control my every waking moment when I'm around him.
Harold: Ok let’s refocus on you for a moment; the question of the year is, why? Why come back? What is your reasons/purpose for your SFT homecoming? Why is Megan the Monster back?
Megan: Honestly, I don't know. Something - something mysterious - drew me back here. Perhaps it was Amy Jo or my need to fulfill a life long dream or it was my boredom or just simply this is what I'm meant to do with my life and I cannot deny that urge. I'm not back for any special reason, nothing in particular drew me, and so if you're looking for a person or a thing to say I came back for, it doesn't exist.
Harold:: Well I don’t buy that but I wont push anymore, but when you came back, you didn’t come alone, you brought someone with you, Amy Jo Smyth, and what a impact she made, winning not just matches but the Lethal Lottery and with a twist of fate also won the World Title along with the final Lottery match. Tell us of her.
Megan: Amy Jo is my best friend in the whole world. She's been there for everything and I've been there for her. I'm proud of her. What can I tell you that you already don't know... She's a determined woman, just like me. She's got a talent that I knew was there, but needed to be harnessed and refined. She did that and look at her now. A World Champion. Her life is going great and I'm happy for her. You Know, that old saying... With Age Comes Wisdom. Well, for me, when I hit 29, knowing my youth was behind me...
Megan: It brought me a strange happiness, if you will. A desire to see other's excel and achieve greatness and that's why I helped Amy Jo, why I pushed her so hard, and because I knew she could do it. She is not a girl to mess with; she broke two of my fingers in a practice match one night and choked Hudson out during her training. So, I'd watch out.
Harold: Well there’s no denying her talent, with her push, you've sort of taken a backseat? Does the shift for her affect you in any way, professionally or personally?
Megan: When I signed my contract, I only signed on for part-time work - if you will. I don't want anything more then the occasional match with whom I choose. Her push has helped me a lot, actually it helped me to see that I can teach and learn at the same time. That I can stand idly by and cheer for someone. That was hard for me when I younger. But now, with her especially, I want her to do what she's doing. She's my best friend and nothing she could ever do would make her think any less of her or myself.
Harold: Ok let’s do History 101; give our readers the history as only you can tell it, the history of Megan's career, and that of the fiery Amy Jo "Smyth".
Harold: (background, feds, titles, achievenents whatnot)
Megan: Megan has won numerous titles, so many I can't remember them... Hardcore Titles, US Titles, Tag Titles, hell, even a deathmatch crown thrown in there. My heart lies in the hardcore aspect of the sport, it's where I got my start and it's probably where I'll end it, amazingly enough. Most people grow from there. I don't want to, I like it too much.
Megan: PWSF and SFT are probably my two favorite federations over the years. All the others were simply a waste of time.
Megan: Amy Jo doesn't really have much of a past. She's new around here. She's only got the World Title - a great start I might add - and the Lottery Crown.
Megan: This is her one and only federation.
Harold: Interesting, some similarities but yet quite some differences, what do you think is the main differences between Megan and her prodigy Amy?
Megan: Well, Age for starters. AJ is almost three years younger and that can mean a lot in this short life. Amy Jo, as we all know, is also a lesbian. So, their childhoods were very different. While Megan was playing football in the backyard, AJ was facing a bully and her own sexual orientation and some horrible thoughts about herself. Megan is defineatly the rock and AJ is defineatly the wild child. I will always know what Megan will be but with AJ, the possibilities are endless and that’s probably the main difference.
Harold:: Well with Amy winning not just the Lottery but taking the vacant World Title then losing it 2 weeks later in her first defense, it must of been a rollercoaster of feelings, ecstatic, shock, surprise, happiness, anger, mixed emotions for certain, some say Amy got as far as she did with lucky draws, others claim that Shadow's lingering soft spot for you helped Amy, and that her losing the title was a way to balance everything., but you and I know Shadow very well, we both know he's not one to give charity or give wins or shots not earned or deserved how do you silence the critics who think Amy or you don’t deserve the SFT spotlights? And how do you answer the critics who think this is all just Shadow and some sort of angle he has to help or punish you both?
Megan: Here's a stupid question for the critics, how is he punishing me by having Amy Jo win the world title... I know she lost it, but in the scope of things, it makes little difference to her and me. How is helping me or her... She showed that she capable of winning the Lottery. She beat some pretty tough competitors. Are you telling me that Cage and Rachel Pitt aren't some of the tops her in SFT? She beat them, fair and square. Amy Jo was ready to go into a match with King, win or lose. She wasn't expecting...
Megan: Anything let alone the World Title. Shadow is a fair man, he would never do such a thing and I'm growing very tired of the people who say that something special had to be going on in order for a female to be up to challenge of winning a World Title or winning one. It should be enough to shut the fuckers up when one does, but it's not. So, here's what I've got to say to the critics, shut the fuck up already and get a life.
Harold:: Well Amy only held the title 2 weeks, and for the last year its been very hard for anyone to hold on the World title for any real time, I’m not asking why Amy lost but in your experience here and elsewhere why do you personally think its so hard to hold onto the SFT World title?
Megan: People come and go in SFT like the weather. Some are great, win the World Title and then something happens and the title is vacated. I also think that some people, once they win the World Title, they think they are invincible, so they stop trying as hard as they once did. Amy lost the title but not because she didn't try, but because she Wolf got the best of her, plain and simple. I know Wolf is going to lose it to Precious, but in the end, I think it will be a long before anyone can come along and hold..
Megan: That title for any longer then a month. It's just the way the cards are dealt here.
Harold:: Like you many others veterans and newbie’s alike seem to get ensnared in the SFT black hole, most try to leave or escape as it seems, but somehow, someway they return or end up back here, what is it about SFT that makes people return? What was it for you?
Megan: For others, I think it's about the feeling it gives them or the chances it lays out for them. For me, it's all about the people and places it can take me. It's about the sport, as well. I could never go anywhere else, regardless of pay or promises. Look what happened last time I did that. So, it might be for me, that I know I'll never get handed an empty promise.
Harold:: Ok here’s another question I like to ask, if you could face any 3 wrestlers, past or present from any fed you've been in, who would it be and why?
Megan: Shadow is top of the pops for me. It's the ultimate to face him. You know how good you really are when you face Shadow. It brings out the best in ya. Second, Kabal - yes, Kabal, probably just because I'd want to see him again, hear his silly jokes. Did you know he had a thing for me? Third, Amp/Pettis. For him, he is the only man I still hold a grudge for and I don't know why. He does plague me, but I think of him, I want to beat him into a bloody pulp and I could defineatly do that now.
Harold:: Ok believe me I know how you feel bout Pettis, I hold grudges for long periods of time, ok well can you tell us what your short range plans are for yourself and Amy?
Harold: What people are on your hit list or what titles are you set to go after?
Megan: Oh, Jesus, I don't know. Wherever life takes me, basically. Apparently, Amy Jo is set to go after the IC title and well, I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing, cheering AJ on and looking to face people on my wish list when they come along. I think my next match might be against Erik Dean, amazingly enough, but if something comes along that strikes my fancy, I'm all but happy to step inside the ring.
Harold: Well Megan thank you for sitting down with me today, I appreciate your time and I'm sure our readers are finally glad to get some answers.
Megan: Like I said, it was my pleasure. I look forward to answering a lot more questions when the time comes fit and it will be inside the ring.
