| Title: The Joe Mokoko Interview (The Road to being a Legend, or the Road to nowhere?) | |
|
The Second Harold Interview of many: Harold: Thank you Joe for sitting down to do this interview, I know you're a busy man with chats and poker games always going on.Joe Mokoko: I find time to help my community Harold: Well first things first, lets talk about your past, how long have you been a wrestler and where'd you first get your start? Joe Mokoko: Well Harold its actually quite interesting...I began four years ago in a fed called the WEWF. I had so much trouble in my life that one of my close friends, thought I'd ought to try wrestling. You know to take my anger out on something. Harold: Your mask and your style has an overseas type feel did you spend much time in Mexico or Japan? Joe Mokoko: Actually no...I was just gifted and sculpted by the almighty hands of god. Harold: Well I see you have no ego Joe Mokoko: Ahhh my title says it all. Harold: Well let me bring you down a peg, your first few runs in SFT were anything but memorable, most regarded you just another jobber. Somewhere along the line you actually became good. When and why did this finally take place? Joe Mokoko: I decided to take my game to the next level because I was sick and tired of being a jobber. I wanted my name to be well known. I wanted to be a star. So I looked for help. Jeff King aka Nirvana helped me big time. I credit him for making me what I am today. Harold: And speaking of what you are today, you've really begun to turn some heads. And most noticeably had perhaps your biggest win to date, by winning the IC title and defeating Fireball at the last ppv. That must of been quite the feeling, can you tell us a bit more of what that kind of match and win meant for you and your career? Joe Mokoko: Oh after that match, I was ecstatic to say the least. I began to doubt myself again and when I got the shot...I knew I had to win. I had always thought that I deserved more and could beat the best. Fireball at the time was the best and I had to beat him. I won in probably the biggest upset since McDonalds stopped selling super size. And now I feel after winning people do notice me and I feel I am destined for the big shot. Harold: Well you certainly have gotten the attention of Shadow, which in today's SFT is a hard thing to capture, but the buzz with the big cahoonas and others on the net is that you lack the killer instinct to take it to that last level, that your lack of effort or determination will always keep you a step away. What do you have to say to the owners and our readers who think that Joe just doesn't have that final intangible to take it all the way? Joe Mokoko: Bite my ass you commie fucktards...Just watch me prove you wrong! Harold: Whoa there boy, along with all your critics you also have your fans, you've developed a strong following and if I am not mistaken you and I spoke a few weeks ago, told you that with a bit more effort there'd be no stopping you, but each man knows his capabilities, his strengths and weakness, so please take my space and evaluate yourself, what do you see as your strengths and what do you see as your weaknesses? Joe Mokoko: I believe my strengths are that I am entertaining. People like to see my stuff and look forward to it. I don't try to bore you with nonsense and what not. I could speak and speak like Cage but that's not by style. I use to bore people with my past runs in the SFT and look where it got me. Absolutely no-where. I changed it up. Showed my story and now look. I'm the man to beat. Boo-Yah. Joe Mokoko: Weaknesses on the other hand is my determination. I got distracted quite easily. I just cant seem to motivate myself sometimes and it hurts me. But that's about it. Consistency and determination. Harold: Well I appreciate your honesty, not many are able to really see themselves in a true light. Now speaking of entertaining, one of the reasons you managed to get the attention of Shadow was your moniker, "The Krimson Dragon" is very familiar as he himself uses 2 monikers he's used for some time "The Crimson King" and "The Dark Dragon" now did you sorta get that from him, or did you just come up with the moniker yourself? And whatever way you came up with it, might I say its a very catch name and everyone digs it. Joe Mokoko: Aye I came up with it all by myself. It is really catchy. I never knew Shadow had it when I first joined. But I liked the sound of Krimson for some reason. It's just an awesome word and it led me to think what would look good following and also match my character some. So it clicked I had the fire and heart of the dragon..aka "Krimson Dragon." Harold: Now lets skip ahead to the future for the moment. Each wrestler sooner or later comes face to face with the future, where they sit down and realize everything they've accomplished and done. What exactly will it take for you to say "That'll do" and walk away from the sport for good? Also ooc, does Joe Mokoko have a wife or kids or something back home, what drives you behind the scenes? Joe Mokoko: When I am remembered will finally be the time. When I take a little break and people ask for me to come back. When my name is finally etched into the Hall of Fame as one of the greats...That'll do. I don't see that happening soon so I'm stuck here for a while. What drives me is greatness really. My family is dead..no wife..no kids. I grew up on the streets as a kid Harold always wanting to be something. So that's what is driving me. The urge to become great. To become a somebody. Harold: Very interesting, so basically what you're telling me, is you grew up a nobody, lived as a nobody, and finally had enough, you want to become a somebody, to be remembered as a "great", to be in the Hall of Fame with names like Dave Steel, Mad Dogg, James Flame, Reginald Royce, and Shadow, all those people started off on the right foot, winning was a way of life for them, the question comes to this my dear Joe Mokoko, do you have it in you to be "great", not just for a short time, but for long periods of extended time, to be the epitome of "greatness". Those names knew they wanted to be the best, they hungered to be recognized as the best, they took the weight of the fed on their backs and carried the fed to something we all now still cherish. Are you Joe Mokoko, are you willing to bleed SFT and be the hero it so desperately is in need of? SFT needs a hero, its there for the taking, is that hero you? Joe Mokoko: Harold just call me Superman. SFT is my home and I will bleed and die to keep this fed great. No matter what happens I will be here and I will be fighting. without SFT I'd be lost. SFT is my life. Harold: That didn't answer my question, not entirely, do you truly have it in you to be the hero we need, and think hard and answer truthfully. Joe Mokoko: I really believe I do..You said it yourself. Once I defeat my weaknesses I will be unstoppable. I am working every week to try and fix them. It truly is not an easy task but I can improve. I will improve. I may not be the hero yet but with work I will. Harold: Thank you, that's what I was looking for, an honest answer not the "cliche" answer, Joe I do really appreciate the candid responses, but I have 2 more for you. Harold: "How far do you see yourself going in the tournament? And what do you really think your chances are? Joe Mokoko: I came into the tournament with enormous amounts of confidence, I had the muddaf'n legend Sean Lane as a partner. But we both just fell short by a team who wanted it just a little more. I get a second chance however thanks to my friend Holocaust and I'm pissed. I wont lose again. That's a promise. In other words all the way. Not many people get a second chance. No way I'm blowing this again. Harold: Good, well Joe I do thank you for sitting down to do this interview, its a pleasure to talk to wrestlers for in-depth interviews I feel not only I but our readers learn more about you. Thank You once again. Joe Mokoko: No problem Harold...I do get paid for this right? |
