A Harold interview:
Harold: Tonight folks I'm joined by the one and only Justin Paige, Justin, thank you for doing this interview, I know you're busy right now, so thanks for sitting down with me and taking time out of your schedule
Justin Paige: Oh it’s no problem at all...anything for the SFT. I'll give you as much time as my current situations allow.
Harold: Well Justin you recently returned to SFT, but sadly it’s a short return, you are shipping out to Iraq, when do you leave?
Justin Paige: The actual date is may 8th but, with the training and all I have to make a trip to Virginia this weekend and stay there till the 14th and then I have until the 6th of may before I’m actually gone for the next two years.
Harold: Wow, that’s really unbelievable, my hat goes off to you, and im sure all of SFT is as proud of you as I and the fans. So basically you’ll have a good month with us before you leave. Tell me you got maybe 3-4 matches tops you can have, do you plan on fighting or will you have one or 2 more matches and call it quits?
Justin Paige: Actually that’s a funny thing because I want nothing more to do the 3-4 matches but chances are I could only pull off 2 at the most unless I do all shows for 2 weeks. And trust me.if anyone could do that, i'd be me.
Harold: Well before we get on your last few matches, let’s talk the past, where did you get your start, and when? Give us your history as only you can tell our readers.
Justin Paige: My History? Damn.that's a reach to the back of my head. I got started in No Mercy Wrestling about 8 years ago and as soon as I got there I was taken under the wing by HBK a.k.a Dennis. He taught me the ropes and with in two months I was holding three titles and would soon become a grand slammer. But NMW was a minor league to the Never Surrender Wrestling and that’s where I really came into who I am today. Many greats in that fed and it took me a good year to get to the top but when I got there it was a bitter sweet victory because I had held every title and nobody could beat me so the fed kinda fell to the ground. After that, I came to the SFT.if you were asking for a personal history...I think that’s another interveiw in its self
Harold: So you been doing this as long as SFW/SFT has been alive, did you join SFT when it started or later on, did you ever get to be in SFW or XCW before the merger?
Justin Paige: Oh wow.I forgot all about XCW!! I was in the XCW for about half a year before the merger. I have a lot of memories there but the one that matters is with DX being formed by myself and Reno Destiny. I can’t believe I forgot about that.wow.
Harold: Who were your best matches against, any fed doesn’t matter, and who did you have your best matches/feuds against?
Justin Paige: Number one feud would have to be Ray Cross. The feud we had before I left was nothing more then amazing. Reno Destiny from the XCW days, Owen Hart, HBK and Venom from the NSW. Jay Lethal and that guy who called him self nobody. I don’t remember which fed I had them in; I just remember the effort I put into it. And for my best match? The 3rd match I had in the XCW was a cage match for the world title against President Dypko...I put my blood sweat and tears into that match and even though I lost, I won.
Harold: You've been in SFT on and off the last few years, like many veterans, when they choose to return to the ring they choose to return to SFT, why? What is it about SFT that makes people return, and why is it that even when some leave they still linger backstage, what is SFT's appeal to you personally? What is it about this place that makes you return, what is it you like about it personally? Everyone has their own reasons for being here or returning, what’s your reasons?
Justin Paige: Oh wow, that’s a hard question. In all seriousness, the guys who run it. I mean, damn they have kept that place above water for how many years now? I love the fact that no matter what, If I want a match, I get a match. I think the reason I keep coming back though is because after I leave there seems to be a swarm of "new" guys and I just want to show them how we used to do it back in the day. True there are still allot of guys that are still around but they are too caught up in their own thing to pay any attention to the new guys. I think that’s my job. And another reason is what I just said.the guys that have been there as long as I have. I still to this day have something to prove to them and my self.
Harold: What exactly do you need to prove? explain on that.
Justin Paige: well, I was never thrown into the spot light. I never headlined a Payper view in a 1 on 1 match. To this day people still say I'm stuck to mid-card. And I want.no.I NEED to prove to myself and everyone else that I have what it takes to be in that spot. I need to prove that I still have it.
Harold: ok well most people have mixed views on the staff, they either hate them or like them, im unsure how much interaction you've had with them, but what are your thoughts on the staff/and owner?
Justin Paige: Ha.the staff tends to fill up with fallout. It never seems like they can get a full staff with out anyone that will quit when they need them. But as far as management goes, hey, they let me keep coming back so I guess I don’t have a problem. But my second most wanted match is against both Connor and Shadow
Harold: Well since we're talking matches you’d want, name 4 past, present or future stars you’d want matches with and why? so far you named Connor and Shadow, but why and 2 more.
Justin Paige: The simple fact that they are the head guys. The fact that they are who they makes me want to get in the ring with them. And plus they are both amazing in the ring. I think the other 2 matches would have to be a triple threat between HBK, Reno and myself and a triple threat against Cade (do u remember him), seth dryden and myself. Just because they are the most influencial people in my career
Harold: What titles did you hold in SFT?
Harold: And in XCW?
Justin Paige: in the SFT I have never been one for titles but I have held the hardcore and the TV. title, just because Im not about titles in the SFT. In the XCW I held the I.C. belt and the Tag titles at the same time for about half a year. I held the Hardcore title there also.
Harold: Well in SFT it’s hard to hold on to the world title, in your personal opinion why do you think that is?
Justin Paige: Everyone wants it. It kinda sucks because the other titles never get half the exposure as the world title and I mean, if you look at it, it’s pointless. All of these people WANT to be the next champion but if you look at it, the last few people to hold it, have been guys that have been here since the beginning and when they get it, they hold on to it for alooong time. But I think the reason everyone wants it is for the simple fact that no body respect the other titles, and I would rather have one of them.
Harold: Whose rps do you enjoy, who do you enjoy to read? Current or past.
Justin Paige: From the Past I enjoyed Reno's, Cade's, and Dryden. I still love Dryden's RPs and Nirvana's are right up there. Brandi James was an ass kicker and Jared's are pretty damn good too. But my favorite...mine.
Harold: SFT is known for its chaotic/argumentative ooc boards, do you like that or see it as a weakness?
Justin Paige: I don’t see it as a weakness...I see curtain people as a weakness to it
Harold: When you leave SFT, what do you want to be remembered for? What do you hope your legacy is or will be?
Justin Paige: Wow, your all about the tuff questions. I want to be remembered for the work I put into the place. I would like for people to see me and be like, "Wow, I want to be like him". Kind of like I was to Seth Dryden.
Harold: Well Justin, im not religious, but if there is such a thing as a God, I do hope that you return back home safe and well, when you return back home after your tour, will you return to SFT? or is this farewell for good?
Justin Paige: I've never been able to say good bye to SFT but the way things are looking right now, I'll be back after I've been home for awhile. Because to tell ya the truth, I wont stop unless I have absolutely nothing left in me. So SFT...start the countdown on May 6th. I will be back..
Harold: Well Justin thank you for doing this, and goodluck out there.
Justin Paige: Stay alive SFT...and I could use your prayers while I'm gone..
