| Title: The Johnny Legend Interview (An Interview with a Legend.) | |
|
Another Harold Interview of many: Harold: Well today folks I am interviewing the current SFT IC champion Johnny Legend. Johnny thank you for taking time to sit with me and do this interview.Johnny Legend: No problem Harold: First off I like to start with whoever I interview, I like them to give us a brief history of their career up till now, where you got started and so on. Johnny Legend: Oh boy... Well, I always wanted to become a wrestler, ever since I was a child. Watching greats such as Ash, Phenom and Shadow. At the age of 16, I signed up at a local wrestling school, 'House of Pain.' There I learned the basic, and went to go onto my first federation... WECW. I didn't make much of an impact, and after a few years. WECW went out of business. I was then out of the wrestling business for a couple of years. Until I got a call from some recruiter at SFT. Well, long story short... Here I am. Harold: Several months ago you left and it seemed you were leaving for good, but then a few months ago you came back and stronger than we've ever seen you before, Question 1, why did you come back? Why now? And why are you even better than before, what is it you’re trying to prove? You've been world champion what else is there for you to prove in SFT? Johnny Legend: Well, after my match with Shadow, at Season of Abyss. I needed a little time off. I had to recollect myself. When I was on my hiatus from SFT... I trained and trained. I also wrestled in some Indy federations. Then at 'Lethal Lottery.' Johnny Legend returned better then ever. I had to prove to the world, that Johnny Legend is not a one hit wonder. Harold: So are you actively going to be going after the world title is that your ultimate objective or is there another reason you're back? Johnny Legend: The world title is not the main reason I came back, I guess. You see, when Shadow defeated me. I felt like I didn't really give it my all. I want another chance at him... Hopefully, someday I will get that chance. Harold: Well then I have to ask if you want to fight Shadow, why did you shock the world and join the Dead Pac? Johnny Legend: Shadow met me backstage at Inferno, awhile back. He asked me to join Dead Pac, and he shall teach me everything to become unstoppable. Something I may also need, once I get another chance at him. Harold: So you basically made a deal with the devil to defeat the devil is that it? Johnny Legend: Yes, basically. Johnny Legend: Shadow is that one man, everyone wants to take out. I respect the hell out of him, but if I get that chance for glory... I'll take it. Harold: Well since we're on the subject of Shadow, what has he been teaching you that you already don’t know? What can he show you? Johnny Legend: I am sorry, but the teachings between Shadow and I... Are only between Shadow and I. Harold: Well answer me this which is more important to you, another World Title reign or a win over Shadow? Johnny Legend: A victory over Shadow. I would pass on all the World title shots for that one victory. Harold: Well Johnny speaking as truthfully as you can, why would a win over Shadow be that important to you? Is it just for bragging rights or is there more to it? Johnny Legend: Bragging rights... No. Like I said, I respect the man. He is a myth, a Legend. And if I defeat him... I to shall become a myth... A Legend. Harold: I think most would agree you're doing that already on you’re own, but if that’s what you want then that’s what you want. Rumors are flying you wont be staying long with the Dead Pac, is there truth to that? Are you leaving them soon or are you staying for the long haul? Johnny Legend: Once you join Dead Pac. You will always be Dead Pac. Harold: That didn’t answer my question, but we'll leave that alone, I hear from the higher staffers that you've done so well since returning you may be next inline for a world title shot? Do you feel you're ready for that already? Johnny Legend: Yes. I am always ready. Harold: They say that keeping the World Title is harder than obtaining it, why do you think that is? Johnny Legend: Well, that basically goes for every title. However, for World. It is a little harder. You see, everyone wants a piece of you. You got these blockheads that will do anything. Hell, they'll attack you backstage, and soften you up for the match. Plus, you'll be main eventing with all the top talent SFT has to offer. Harold: So why does every champ lose it so soon? Do you feel SFT right now is lacking main eventers or everyone is too evenly matched? What’s your take? Johnny Legend: Both. The last few champions couldn't cut it... Aside from Cypher. Havoc is too cocky, and that blinded him from what was coming to him. Ray Cross shouldn't even be near the main event. Harold: Let me ask you this, when your career is finally over and done with, what do you want to be remembered as? Or how do you want to be remembered? Johnny Legend: Well, if I get the World Title... Hopefully, as the greatest World Champion SFT had. Harold: Well you’d have some serious competition with names like Dave Steele and Mad Dogg, do you see yourself surpassing even them? They're already in the SFT Hall of Fame, which I am sure you will be one day too, but still the question is, do you see your legacy surpassing even theirs? Johnny Legend: Yes... Easily. Harold: That’s quite the ego you have there? Old timers say its not the titles you win but how you acted with the time you had? Which do you think is more important in the end, the titles you won or the way you acted while champion? Harold: Cause you've always been known for having the ego, but now you're backing it up with your talent. Johnny Legend: Well, the more titles you have, also means the more titles you lost. So, yeah... Acted sounds right. Harold: Lets break character here for a moment, is there people in SFT you just don’t get along with at all? You've always been at the center of controversy backstage, is that intentional or is that you being you? Johnny Legend: I have always been an asshole. Kaeneis I hate with all my heart... The fella acts like an ass. Always bringing people down. Nirvana, err... I just think the guy is weird. Johnny Legend: Oh, and Seth Dryden is a prick. Harold: Ok on the spot question, if in your next 3 matches, you could face 1 person in each of the next 3 matches, who would you want to face, it can be anyone from XCW history, SFW history, and SFT history, who would be your 3 top dream matches, in other words who did you look up to that you never got to face and would of wanted to? Johnny Legend: Glenn Owen, Legion, and Mad Dogg. Harold: Interesting, and where does Shadow rate among them? Johnny Legend: Shadow is beyond all of them. A dream? Nah, a nightmare. Harold: The golden goose as they say? Johnny Legend: Yes sir Harold: What if I told you that next week I could get you a match with Glenn Owen but you’d have to give up your World Title shot? What would you choose? Johnny Legend: Glenn Owen. I can always get another world title shot. Harold: Ok if you have to sum yourself up in 4 words, what words would you choose? Johnny Legend: Cocky. Asshole. Sexy. Crazy. Harold: Ok a few more questions, right here, right now, what’s your main goal? Whose on Legends hit list? Johnny Legend: Shadow, Havoc and Nirvana. Harold: And honestly speaking how do you see your chances against those 3? Johnny Legend: I could easily take Havoc and Nirvana. However, Shadow may be some trouble. Harold: Johnny I can safely say this is one of the most entertaining interviews I have had the pleasure to conduct, I want to thank you for sitting down with me and I wish you luck at the ppv and beyond. Johnny Legend: Thanks, it has been a pleasure.
