Rick O'Shea's Random Thoughts
Hey Hey Hey, It's Rick O'Shea!
Hello everyone in SFT land, my name is Rick O'Shea and I'm here to bring a
new zest to SFT Reporting. This is my inaugural report. What you can expect
from me is the usual news and rumors, along with hot and cold lists, and in
the near future I will have full length interviews with various superstars
here in SFT. So let's get on with the show.
News
Well, New Beginnings have come
and gone and I think the SFT staff did one hell of a job starting new
storylines. I'm not sure who did a better job of that...the SFT or the WWE.
The first PPV of the new year was a huge success. Buyrates were through the
roof and there was over 1.5 million dollars received at the gate. And now
we're left wanting more from the SFT front office. We have Co-Heavyweight
Champions in Connor MacDaddy and Sean Lane. One is a member of SFW and one is
a member of XCW. If that isn't spark enough to rekindle this Stable War, I
don't know what else you can do? And this will really blow up if one of these
guys loses the title for the other person. Whoever came up with this storyline
is a genius. And from what I've heard, because of one staff member, this angle
almost didn't happen. Well, thank god it did. Because this is gonna be huge.
And one more thing on this topic...I've been around for a long long time and
to see Connor MacDaddy be where he is today is awesome. That guy worked really
really hard to be the number one guy around here and he deserves a lot of
respect for that.
Another angle we saw at the New
Beginnings was the returns of both Triple X and XCW Founder Kevin. Wow, that's
huge. Kevin is back to make sure his XCW stable stays strong, and I can
guarentee he'll have an impact here in SFT. Much the same way he had an impact
on XCW. And with Triple X joining the fray, the XCW stable is looking stronger
than ever. Hey, wait a minute? I thought ICON beat Triple X in an ambulance
match and drove the ambulance into a river? Hmm...I guess Triple X survived,
good for him.
Finally at New Beginnings, we
saw Dave Van Dam's Recurring Nightmare make his presence known costing DVD his
US Title which now sits on the shoulder of Lucas Balkan, who is claiming that
he's the 2 time ANTI-US Champion. DVD's stalker has been sending him notes
threatening the Legend's life and career. And at Inferno, the stalker is going
to reveal himself. From what I've heard, DVD's stalker is someone close to
Dave. And from what I've heard, this angle is gonna play itself out all the
way to February's PPV. Which means these guys are gonna have one hell of an
angle all month long for a huge climax at the end of the month. I seen the
week by week plans for how to draw this feud out and it's looking like a
classic. With the way it's being built up, this could make DVD face of the
month, the stalker heel of the month, the match as match of the month, the
rp's as rp of the month...when this is all said and done, these guys could
sweep most of the awards. For anyone who is looking for ideas on how to come
up with feuds and angles, and for the rookies looking how to improve their
rp'ing skills, this is definitely one angle to watch out for.
In other news, it's apparent
that the SFT are looking for more staff members, ones that are highly
reliable. Results haven't been up on time for quite some time, especially the
PayPerView's. Apparently, New Beginnings would have been up on time, but the
World Title match was not up to par for the staff members and they had to
spend time rewriting it. So if anyone has an extra time and thinks they wanna
help out, contact Erik Dean or Shadow.
2004 looks like it could be a
great year for SFT. In recent years, the company has seen it's share of
failures. They've been steadly coming down from the peak they were in at the
turn of the century. But things are gradually picking up. The return of
veteran superstars along with the influx of new talent has really given the
SFT it's new juice that has been revitalizing the SFT. And from what I hear,
the reason there was an influx of talent was because The ICON spent 5 days
straight just scouting around for new talent. So we should give him props for
doing his share to help out the SFT. This guy gets a lot of flack for the way
he portrays his character, but OOC, this guy really does care about SFT and
does anything he can to help it out. So even if you don't like him, you've
gotta respect his dedication to the SFT. This could be the first year in a
long time where the SFT ends the year better than it started it. If the staff
keeps up the intriguing storylines and the rookies step up to grab the ball,
it could be great. But what you've gotta remember is that you always need to
keep things fresh, and the best way to do that is to spread the word about SFT
to new people. For every 10 new guys you get in SFT, you find atleast 2 or 3
that will stick around and be great. And that's pretty good.
Rumors
Connor MacDaddy and Sean Lane
now have to act as a cohesive unit. With the two working side by side now, for
what could be awhile because these two are hard to beat, I wouldn't be
surprised to see one of them leave their stable for the other. Watch out for
that.
Dave Van Dam's stalker is going
to reveal himself at Inferno. Well I have word that it could be Reginald
Royce, James Flame, or Fireball. We'll have to wait and see.
The SFW really needs to do
something drastic to get the upper hand on this stable war. What will they do?
Will they bring any former SFW guys back? I'm not really sure what's gonna
happen, but they do NEED to do something. Maybe it'll happen sooner than
later.
I've been hearing whispers that
SFW is looking for new members. A list of candidates includes Lucas Balkan,
Cowboy Jack Jones, Owen Windsor and Fireball. But do they wanna join SFW?
To clear up a rumor, Allisa
O'Toole is the President of SFT and NO, she don't not sleep her way to the
top.
