Rick
O'Shea's Random Thoughts (Interview Edition)
Hey Hey Hey, It's Rick O'Shea
here with an Interview segment to my weekly "Random Thoughts"
segments. My first guest, of hopefully many, is Lucas Balkan. So let's
get right to it.
Rick O'Shea: Mr. Balkan, it's great to
have you as my first guest on Rick O'Shea's Random Thoughts. Let's get right
down to business. You're on a roll here in SFT. You've been mounting up wins
like crazy. Why do you think you are having so much success?
Lucas Balkan: I'm different. People haven't been sure how to approach
me in matches. I'll admit I'm not the biggest in the world. Or the strongest,
but I do kick a lot of ass. As seen so far. I don't bother myself with simple
slanging matches and concentrate more on the match itself and the opponents
strengths and weaknesses. I'm too intelligent for the simple slanging matches
that have become far too common amongst wrestlers.
Rick O'Shea: You've recently retained your SFT US Title, and have once
again named it the "Anti-US" Title. Do you have a genuine hatred for
the US or is this just one of those stunts to keep your name fresh in the
minds of the fans and staff alike?
Lucas Balkan: Oh, it's genuine. I hate America, and the United Kingdom.
America's personal bitch. It stems back to seeing people messed around by the
British government and realising they were trying to be the Americans. Facism
you can vote for doesn't appeal to me.
Rick O'Shea: So when you step into the ring with an American or a Brit,
there's an extra level of hatred in your blood...an extra obsticle an opponent
of your is gonna have to overcome. Would you say that's accurate?
Lucas Balkan: It works on different levels. If said American or Brit is
a patriot of their country then yes, I get worked up.
Rick O'Shea: You're the US, or should i say, Anti-US champion now for
the second time, but I would venture to guess that you're not satisfied with
that. What are your goals here in the SFT?
Lucas Balkan: I don't have any long term goals, I just focus on whoever
is most deserving of my hatred at that particular time, if that directs me to
titles, so be it.
Rick O'Shea: Do you have aspirations to become the World Heavyweight
Champion?
Lucas Balkan: It's not currently on my mind. All this crap between Lane
and MacDaddy and stuff doesn;t interest me. If I get a shot at some point in
the future I will take an interest in that belt. Right now, no.
Rick O'Shea: Some people may take that as a sign that you're afraid to
step up into the spotlight. How would you respond to those alligations?
Lucas Balkan: Bullshit. Plain and simple. There's not a single person
in SFT that I would flinch on hearing I was to face. I'll be in the
spotlight...when remains the question.
Rick O'Shea: That's a good enough answer for me. There are a few new
hot topics around here in the SFT. You touched on one of them being the Sean
Lane/Connor MacDaddy situation, but I'd like to touch on the other two main
occurances in SFT. One that may have affected your second reign as Anti-US
Champion. Dave Van Dam was your opponent at New Beginnings and he lost that
match due to interference by his "Recurring Nightmare", who later
turned out to be The ICON. Do you feel that Dave Van Dam wasn't totally on his
game in your match because of him constantly being stalked and harrassed?
Lucas Balkan: I'm not particularly bothered. He wasn't totally on his
game and I won. He beat me with a counter the week before, it balances out. I
really have no interest in DVD anymore. Nonetheless, I don't like him.
Rick O'Shea: I get the feeling you don't really like anyone. Which
brings me to my next question. The XCW/SFW stable war is heating back up. The
XCW being the ones taking the charge. You're not linked to either group, thus
making you a very saught after personality. Have you been contacted by either
faction, and if not, would you consider joining the war seeing as you weren't
in SFW and you weren't in XCW.
Lucas Balkan: XCW made the open offer on air a few weeks ago that I
haven't responded to. I decided that I don't like many of the members and it
would be futile for me to join them. SFW...haven't contacted me, for all I
know are not interested. It remains to be seen what will happen. But I'm sure
something will, either way, at some point.
Rick O'Shea: So if SFW was interested in you, would you be interested
in them?
Lucas Balkan: It depends on what they have to say for themselves. I'm
not going to join a stable war for no reason.
Rick O'Shea: I understand. How long have you been with the SFT now and
what brought you here?
Lucas Balkan: I had an anonymous message left on my machine asking me
to try out. It was someone who was once in SFT, I don't know who though. I've
been here since late November if memory serves me correctly.
Rick O'Shea: Where were you before that?
Lucas Balkan: Drifting...Should I elaborate?
Rick O'Shea: Yea, I think our audience would like to know about your
backround and more about what Lucas Balkan is all about.
Lucas Balkan: I've not had a steady wrestling gig since late 2002. I
was crucified live on air, I suffered some injuries from it. Barbed wire and
stuff, you know?
Rick O'Shea: Crucified live on the air, huh? That must have been one
serious blow to your psyque.
Lucas Balkan: Yeah, it's not attractive to the ladies...
Rick O'Shea: Haha...I'd imagine not.
Lucas Balkan: Want to see the scars?
Rick O'Shea: Is it a sight my viewers would be ready for?
Lucas Balkan: I would doubt that.
Rick O'Shea: We'll have to pass this time then. And speaking of time,
we're running out of it for this edition. I'd like to thank you Lucas for
giving us your time and allowing us to get to know you better. I'd love to
have you back again as a guest somewhere down the line. Is there anything
you'd like to say in closing to our audience, the staff or the other wrestlers
that may be watching?
Lucas Balkan: You've not seen the best of me, and you'll never see the
worst. If SFW want me. Try come get me.
Rick O'Shea: Awesome. This is Rick O'Shea with Lucas Balkan. Check me out
Friday with the second addition of Rick O'Shea's Random Thoughts. And if you'd
like an interview like the one we had with Lucas today, contact me at rickochet8@aol.com.
Until next time, this is Rick O'Shea. Cya.
