Rick
O'Shea's Random Thoughts (Interview Edition)
February 16th, 2004
Rick O'Shean: This is Rick O'Shea here
again for another exclusive sit down interview. Today my guest is none other
than the hottest rising star in the SFT today...Mr. Owen Windsor. So let's get
right down to business. Owen, what do you attribute your quick rise to, here
in the SFT?
Owen Windsor: Well Rick, as they say the cream always rises to the top,
and well.. I'm almost there already. Obviously I've had the best training
money can buy, and I'm reaping the benifits now.
Rick O'Shea: The competition is stiff here in the SFT. One of the most
prominent federations in the world today. Where would you rank yourself among
your competition at of right now?
Owen Windsor: Honestly I'd have to rank myself number one. I mean Sean
Lane is co-holder of the World heavyweight championship and as everyone saw
last week I dominated the match, obviously he won via. DQ, but that was all
part of the master plan myself and Damien had. If Sean want's a rematch, I'd
be more than happy to embarras him once again.
Rick O'Shea: Has the head office been in touch with you about getting
you a rematch, maybe at the PayPerView?
Owen Windsor: I haven't heard anything yet. I'm not getting my hopes up
either, I know how things work. They are proctecting Sean. Had I wanted I
could have beat him last week, and they just don't want to see a
"rookie" beat the living hell out of the so called
"champion".
Rick O'Shea: And how do you feel about that? Don't you think that if a
rookie is good enough, he should get a shot? Are you implying there's some
politicking going around?
Owen Windsor: Wrestling is filled with politics. And with Damien Sparks
being a friend of mine I've been told of everything that goes on backstage. It
happened to him, but you can't keep a good man down. My time will come
eventualy. Although in my eyes, and I'm sure many others, I've proved I'm good
enough, I should be given my chance.
Rick O'Shea: I've heard rumors of guys like The ICON and Fireball and
Fox being the next in line for big pushes to the World Title. Does that bother
you that veterans that may not be as talented as you are being discussed for
the Title rather than a guy like yourself, because they've had more time here
than you?
Owen Windsor: As both a fan and a wrestler is really annoys me, and as
a business man, it makes me irrate. It's simply not good for business. ICON,
Fireball, Fox.. they've had their window. Nostalgia is over-rated. People want
to see fresh faces. If these morons arebeing pushed down their throats, fans
will go else where.
Rick O'Shea: I actually agree with you. The reason this federation
faultered for so long was because of the lack of fresh faces. One of the main
reasons the SFT is getting momentum again is because of the influx of new
faces, and if I was in the head office, I'd be pushing the new faces. And
speaking of faces, and numerous amounts of them, what do you think of the
influx of stables? I know that there are only three, but if the XCW would
split up a little, we could be in for another stable war era. What do you
think of that whole scene?
Owen Windsor: I've never been a fan of stables. Obviously there's
strength in numbers, but they way I look at it, the members of the stables are
weak. They're follwers, sheep even. I've risen to the top because I haven't
been told what to do. I haven't followed anyone, nor will I ever.
Rick O'Shea: So if any of those stables are looking to recruit you,
you're basically saying they can keep on going because you're not interested?
Owen Windsor: That is exactly what I am saying. Do I look like a
lackey? I am a billionaire. I lead, not follow.
Rick O'Shea: Well Owen, I'm sorry to say but unfortunetly we are
running outta time. Are there any final words that you'd like to leave the
fans, the rest of the wrestlers, or even the staff with as we head out?
Owen Windsor: Well, I'd like to leave a message to my "good
friend" Sean Lane.. We're not done, mate. Last week was just the
beginning.
Rick O'Shea: Well folks, this is Rick
O'Shea sayin thanks for tuning in for this edition of The Random Interview.
