RW: Well, the end of another show, not a bad one if I may say so.
All of a sudden, the lights flash and “The Boys Are Back In Town” Blasts
over the PA system, and out comes Glenn Owen to a huge ovation from the
crowd.
JC: Wow, sounds like you spoke to soon Randy, looks like our Champ has
something to say.
RW: Well, this is not what we expected.
Glenn climbs into the ring, holding the SFT Championship belt in his
left hand. He grabs a mic from the corner and awaits the crowd to die
down.
Glenn: Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to the end of Friday night
Inferno….
The crowd boo’s and cheers at the same time. Glenn must laughs to
himself.
Glenn: Sad way to say hello, but then again what else is a guy meant to
say?
RW: True John, this is the end of another Inferno.
JC: But what’s he doing here, that’s the question…
Glenn: I had hoped to be standing here under different circumstances
tonight. What they were meant to be remains a mystery even to me, but
then again life works like that don’t you think?
Glenn: It’s been about three and a half months now that I’ve held this
belt, and like the times before it has been a true privilege to be your
Strike Fantasy Towers World Champion.
The crowd starts to once again cheer.
Glenn: I don’t think it’s any secret that I came here to help out a
world that I truly believe is a great place. Over the years Strike
Fantasy Towers has gone through many changes, many twists and turns.
There are good times, and bad times, hard times and easy times. But
somewhere along the line we have always seemed to ride out the bad
times, and make the good times return, even if sometimes only in a small
way. It has been a privilege and an honour to help everyone do that, and
for the vast majority of those wrestlers on the roster, you are great
people who I have been happy to hang out with. So I thank you for that,
but most important of all you should be thanking yourselves….
There is now a round of applause from the audience, and Glenn himself
starts clapping.
Glenn: However, things change for us all personally from time to time,
and it’s no secret that I have other places to go, other things to do.
Therefore, I have decided to stand down from my position as champion,
and the torch will be passed somehow in the near future, but that matter
is out of my hand.
RW: WOW, GLENN’S GIVING UP HIS TITLE.
JC: So it would seem.
Glenn: In retrospect it’s an easy decision for me. I basically have
little left to say, and certainly nothing to prove. Could I continue to
push through the pain barrier any longer? Certainly if I wanted to.
However sometimes, something you like so much does not like you back,
and that’s the situation I am now faced with in Strike Fantasy Towers.
No individual or small group of people could push me away from SFT, and
they have not this time, but it doesn’t help to see a few faces back
that have led to so much trouble in the past. Still that matters not
right now, and is a private matter between myself and the staff.
Glenn: And of course people have asked me to stay, and I appreciate
that, but the choice is mine, and my time is done. Many of you will no
doubt have many feelings about me, which is all fine. But all I can say
is that I was asked to do something, I made a promise, and I think it’s
fair to say my promise has been fulfilled. I’ve done what I can to help
out, and I truly hope that has been good enough. I’d say this is the
end, but there is still one more thing left to do here…. But that’s not
for today. So right now I shall just say good night, good luck, god
bless you all, and thank you for once again allowing me to wrestle is
the great federation that is Strike Fantasy Towers.
Glenn now puts down the microphone and leaves the ring as the crowd
cheers as they stand on there feat.
RW: Well John, I’m truly speechless. I thought this guy would end up
being around forever.
JC: Ladies and Gentleman, this has indeed been an historic night, and
we’re really not sure what else to say here….
