Opening
Inferno starts off with pyro going off all over the areana. You can feel the heat from it, as smoke invades everything. We have a ppv type feel tonight. Electrcity in the air, not just pyro, but the fans. Everyone is standing. No one is sitting. And we hear the music play on. A few small fights up in the nosebleed sections as fans are a bit too eager for the show.
The show is set to get underway. We hear a bell ring, three times. RW and JC are at their seats.
RW: Welcome ladies and gents to an exciting Inferno.
JC: Tonight we promise will not be a let down.
RW: It feels like I dunno, it’s a feeling we haven’t had in quite some time.
The show is about to begin.
Match Number One Jack Jones vs.
Jason Miller (Standard Match )
Jason Miller and Jack Jones are both in the ring as the bell rings. Jack with a karate chop followed by whipping Jason into the ropes and nailing him with a clothesline. Jack grabs Jason and tries to lock in a boston crab, but Jason is still much aware and grabs the ropes as Jack breaks the hold, Jason spears Jack.
RW: Well both these guys are going to make this interesting.
Jason with a leg drop, then follows it up with drop toe hold, he then monkey flips Jack into the turnbuckle, tries to follow itup with a banzai drop but Jack pulls the knee and
JC: ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Jack is now up and picks up Jason and nails a neckbreaker!
Jack covers 1……2………kickout! Jack grabs Jason and has him up in the air for a hanging suplex! He nails it perfectly he again covers 1……..2……..but kickout at the last moment!
RW: Close one there.
Jason stands up and kicks Jack in the stomach than nails him with a diamond cutter! Jason covers Jack 1………2………..kickout!
JC: Another close fall.
Jason tries a tequila sunrise as Jack is getting up, but Jack grabs him from the chest and both roll out of the ring awkwardly. They slowly get up, Jack throws a punch, Jason throws a punch, and they go on and on with the fans cheering and screaming. Finally the ref calls for the bell.
Winner: Jason Miller
RW: Neither man aware of the time or the count, mental mistake!
Match Number Two Lion vs.
Jared Mayer ( Standard Match)
JC: Lion and Mayer are already in the ring!
The referee calls for the bell and the action gets under way immediately. The Lion is out fast, attacking Mayer with a series of rights before landing a big left hook.
JC: He's showing Mayer who's boss!
RW: Do you ever think of anything remotely clever to say?
JC: Do you ever express yourself in a manner dissimilar to that of a Valley Girl? - LION WHIPS MAYER INTO THE ROPES AND DROPS HIM WITH A MEAN SHOULDER!
Mayer's head bounces off the mat from the force of the blow, and Lion capitalizes with a series of knee drops. He then lifts Jared Mayer up by the head and slaps him across the chest a few times. Lion then kicks Mayer in the gut to double him over, setting him up for a pile-driver. But Mayer digs deep and stands up to toss Lion over his shoulders.
JC: OH! And Lion lands awkwardly after being caught off guard!
Lion cries out in pain while clutching his back. Mayer notices this and slaps Lion into a Walls of Jericho.
RW: It looks to be over rather quickly for the Lion!
The Lion reaches desperately for the ropes, but to no avail. The referee begins to hover like a vulture.
JC: Lion inching his way toward the ropes!
Mayer takes two giant steps forward, Lion only doubles his efforts, and somehow manages to make it to the ropes!
JC: An impressive display of effort on the part of the Lion!
Mayer appears disgusted, and takes the opportunity to stomp on his opponent as the Lion gets himself back up. But the Lion begins to fight back, ultimately taking Mayer down with a DDT. Mayer is back up quickly, spearing Lion to the ground and proceeding with one hell of a beat-down. The Lion pushes Mayer off his person and the two get up and lock up. Lion gains the upper hand and converts for a German suplex. Mayer appears stunned momentarily, so Lion attempts another one, which Mayer stonewalls. Mayer then grabs Lion's head
RW: It's suicide to grab the Lion's mane!
JC: Jesus Christ.
RW: I couldn't resist.
JC: Mayer with a Cutter!
Mayer covers quickly. The referee begins the count. 1...2....
RW: Impossible!
Mayer slams the mat in frustration, and stands back up, turning away from Lion in the process. Lion somehow musters the energy to get up quickly, and put Mayer through a running bulldog. Mayer gets back up quickly, and the two battle back and forth across the ring, eventually spilling out of it. There, they take turns whipping each other into the barricade, the steps, the side of the ring, and fight their way to the top of the entry ramp.
JC: The referee is already at 6!
The count continues as Lion and Mayer exchange blows.
7...8...9...10
Winner: Double count out
JC: It ends in a double count-out!
Match Number Three Mike Zybala vs.
Johnny AM ( Standard Match)
RW: Johnny AM is already in the ring.
JC: And here comes Zybala through the crowd, stopping along to way to mosh/dance with the crowd, because the music is that hot.
RW: THIS is what they call music these days?
JC: SHut it, Grandpa.
RW: Whatever, I get discounts on everything, sucka. And, at my age, there are four women to every man!
JC: Too bad you don't get any of that action.
RW: Aren't you a virgin?
When the referee calls for the bell, Zybala is out lightning fast. He nails AM with a spinning lariat followed immediately by a camel clutch.
JC: AM is too fresh.
Indeed, AM breaks the hold almost immediately. Zybala backs away, only to attack once more with a series of kicks followed by a hurricanrana. AM gets back up, only to be put back down by a drop kick.
JC: AM up again. Man, this kid is resilient.
Now AM goes on the offensive. He beats Zybala back before sneaking in for a half-nelson legsweep. AM locks Zybala into an ankle lock, but Zybala breaks it almost immediately. The two are back on their feet. Zybala jabs a few times, AM counters with a few rights and a big left of his own. At length, Zybala lays AM out with a superkick.
RW: Probably won't keep AM down, Zybala didn't tune the band.
JC: What the hell does that mean?
RW: IF you gotta ask, you don't gota know.
Sure enough, AM gets back up, if a little shakily. Zybala moves in for another throw, but is countered by a suddenly speedy AM, who takes Zybala for a ride through THREE German suplexes. Zybala soon lies in a crumpled heap on the floor. AM is quick to cover.
JC: Zybala gets the shoulder up just in time!
Johnny AM gets up and in the referee's face, complaining about the speed of the count. Distracted, the referee doesn't notice Zybala give AM a low-blow, though the effects are obvious.
RW: The ref can't call what he can't see.
JC: Or chooses not to.
Zybala runs AM through the paces of a sleeper slam, he holds. AM scrambles at first before realizing the ropes are just inches away. Extending his feet out awkwardly, he manages to get one on the ropes. In frustration, Zybala slams AM's head on the mat before releasing the hold. AM clutches his head and he gets back up.
JC: We're seeing a lot of heart from AM, and SSDD from Zybala.
RW: Isn't that his middle name? Wait, you're not supposed to be the one saying that! Can't you read a script?
AM and Zybala circle around each other before locking up. AM gains the upper hand, turning it into an inverted atomic drop.
JC: A little payback.
AM then kicks Zybala in the gut, picks the lightweight up, powerslams him, and pins, using all of his weight.
JC: 1...2...3...
Winner: Johnny AM
RW: Well, there's a count to complain about!
Match Number Four Sara Pettis vs.
Nathan Gust ( Standard Match )
RW: I am getting word from backstage that our next match already had heated up with an argument backstage and the fight is on. Referees are trying to break it up lets go in back and take a look.
The scene cuts backstage to a frantic brawl where three refs are seen trying to intervene as Gust slams Sara Pettis onto the floor. And he starts kicking her over and over. The refs finally grab a hold of him and start to pull him back as Sara gets to her feet he breaks free of the refs and charges she ducks and backdrops him and he goes through the curtain to the ramp on the outside leading to the ring. Sara heads towards him as the refs are yelling frantically as she grabs a broom and walks out following Gust who slowly gets to his feet and she cracks it across his chest and he falls back and rolls down the ramp to the floor.
JC: Well looks like now the refs are trying to sheepdog them to the ring and at least get the match started.
Sara grabs Gust by the hair and picks him up and dropkicks him to the ground. She turns to the fans and high fives one. Then grabs him and he shoves her aside and a huge forearm to the jaw knocks her back. He grabs her by the hair and yells at the ref and points to the ring and drags her over and tries to ram her head into the ringpost but she blocks and boots him in the gut and tosses him into the ring.
RW: finally both are now in the ring.
JC: Lets see if it can stay standard.
The ref calls for the bell,
DING DING DING
Pettis picks him up and shoots him off the ropes but gust ducks the clothsline and off the ropes she goes for a back elbow he ducks again. She then goes for a backdrop and gust stops and kicks her right in the face she reels back and he charges with a clothsline but she ducks and he goes off the ropes she lifts her foot and Gust grabs it and kicks her in the crotch. She drops.
JC: I don’t care what gender you are that hurts!
RW: ooooohhhch.
JC: Gust now taunting her and the fans.
He picks her up and drills her with a European uppercut then lifts her up for a suplex and holds her in the air and drops her to the ground. He covers one…. Two…… kickout. He gets up without hesitation and grabs her and shoves her into the corner of the ring and begins to choke her with his foot.
RW: I don’t think he expected to get the win with that or if he did he knows better than to argue with the ref.
JC: That’s experience for you.
Gust stops at the five count of the ref yelling at him and he drives a shoulder into Sara and then another one and another one and backs up and saunters over to the far corner and charges in for a spear and Sara lifts her legs over the top of him and rolls him up and the ref counts.. One…. Two… Three. And Sara bails out of the ring as Nathan quickly to his feet charges after her. And just barly misses her as the ref outside holds up her hand for the win.
Winner: Sara Pettis
RW: Bet Gust isn’t happy about that. Out of nowhere.
JC: Well this will not be the last of these two I am sure.
Match Five Daniel Mendoza vs.
DVD ( IC Title Match)
“Blood In My Hair” by Andre Nickatina hits the PA as Daniel Mendoza walks down to the ring waving to the crowd or with determination on his face. He enters the ring by walking up the steps and crouching between the second and third ropes.
JC: This match should be a good one!
RW: Well, it does contain Mendoza and DVD. No point in saying it won’t be good.
“Changes” by Tupac hits the PA as DVD quickly comes out and rushes into the ring. Before the bell can sound, they start off.
No punches are thrown, just bodies as Mendoza launches DVD with a quick and steady arm-toss. DVD bounces to his feet and is taken down by a well-placed clothesline. DVD is quick to get up, dodging a second clothesline and quickly inverting it into a Northern-Lights suplex. He doesn’t pin though, instead he twists his body and lands a beautiful elbow drop onto his sternum. The pin, a one count is made.
RW: Look at the fast pace these two are going at! Gotta love matches like these!
JC: I do! These are awesome!
Daniel is brought up by DVD, but he reverses the move with a forearm to the face. DVD wobbles back, dazed from the hit, Daniel then slings off the ropes and goes for a flying clothesline, but Dave ducks and Mendoza lands on feet, unsuccessful. DVD then goes for a flying clothesline of his own, taking Mendoza down. The hit makes Mendoza contort and land neck-first on the middle rope. Dave nips up and looks over, noticing Daniel in the predicament, and decides to take advantage. Dave drops a knee down on the upper back of Daniel, causing his neck to whip back violently. Daniel rolls in pain a second or so before DVD pins for a two count. Dave gets back to his feet and lifts Daniel up as well. He whips him to the ropes and goes for a power clothesline. Daniel baseball slides though, knocking Dave off his feet and sending him face-first into the mat. Daniel now pins, getting a slow two. Daniel lifts DVD now, grabbing his leg and attempting a Mongolian leg-twist. Dave stops it thought and hits a beautiful enziguiri on Daniel, taking him down to the ground.
JC: His eyes rolled to the back of his head on that one!
RW: Yes they did! What impact!
Dave grabs Mendoza but his hold is broken! Mendoza with forearms repeatedly to the face of DVD! Daniel whips Dave… backdrop! Dave is back up, Daniel with a razor-suplex. Dave back up again, Daniel with a scoop slam! Daniel is climbing the ropes, but DVD is back up. He grabs Daniel by the throat and climbs to mid-post. He then twists his body and hits a top-rope chokeslam! Both men hit hard, Daniel impacting the mat with a huge crash. DVD slowly pulls himself to Daniel and gets an arm over. One… two… three!
The bell sounds.
Winner: DVD
Main Event Saint Jude vs.
Kyle Murphy ( World Title Match )
Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash hits as Jude makes his way to the ring.
RW: This is a match we’ve been waiting for all night!
A burst of pyro explodes at the entrance and "This Fire Burns" by Killswitch Engage blares across the loudspeakers. Kyle Murphy steps confidently out to the stage to a huge pop. Kyle looks around at the crowd but only nods. Turning his attention to the ring, he starts down the aisle. He walks down to ringside just staring into the ring, his face intense and focused. At ringside he simply steps right up onto the apron from the floor. Kyle now looks around at the crowd again before stepping between the ropes into the ring. Crossing the ring, he steps onto the middle rope and with his fists clenched holds his arms out to his sides like a man on a cross. The crowd erupts again and Kyle gives a half-smile as if in spite of himself before stepping down off the ropes.
JC: And here is the champ.
Both Jude and Kyle stand toe to toe. Kyle with a searing clothesline. Jude hits the mat hard. Jude with a shoulder block on Kyle. Kyle sweeps the leg as Jude is again down on the mat. Kyle tries to lock in a sharpshooter but Jude kicks him in the back.
RW: This match is going to be monumental. Both these guys are at the top of SFT and it was just a matter of time till this match happened.
JC: Yeah Jude sort of made his presence felt last few weeks, though hes been on a pretty good run, his not wanting any titles has kept him out of sight for many wrestlers, but today, hes on everyones mind
RW: Especially Kyle Murphy.
Jude with a DDT on Kyle, he covers 1…..2…..kickout!
JC: Close one there by Jude.
Jude grabs Kyle and climbs the turnbuckle, Kyle punching tiredly at Jude on the way, trying hard to prevent the superplex. At the top as Jude is trying to flip Kyle over, but Kyle fights out of it and pushes Jude backwards. Jude falls hard holding the back of his head. Kyle flies off like Macho Man used to and nails a big time top rope elbow drop.
RW: Kyle flew off that rope and nailed Jude.
JC: yeah Jude doesn’t look too good right now.
Kyle now picks up Jude and nails a belly to back suplex, he covers Jude 1…..2…..kickout! Kyle cant believe it, he slams on the mat for the ref to count faster. Kyle is screaming at the ref as Jude gets up, Kyle spots him and nails a superkick! Jude falls like a sack of potatoes. Kyle quickly covers Jude as the ref counts 1………2………kickout!
RW: Jude is somehow getting the power to kick out, incredible!
JC: Maybe divine intervention?
RW: That’s inspiring and scary at the same time.
Kyle continues his onslaught, with a backbreaker on Jude, he grabs him and nails a spinebuster he covers 1…2…..kickout by Jude. The crowd is cheering as we hear them all in unison screaming Jude! Jude! Jude!
JC: The crowd are soundly backing Jude it would seem.
RW: He’s a good guy, lots of people have ragged on him, but they sorta have to work at it. All in all, few if any would have anything bad to say bout the guy.
Kyle grabs Jude and lifts him up and lets him fall on the top of his head nailing a brainbuster!
JC: Holy cow, the Ted Dibiase would be proud of that one!
Kyle covers Jude again 1……..2……….kickout!
RW: Holy…he kicked out again!
Kyle picks up Saint Jude and goes for and nails his Celtic Cross, he covers Saint Jude as the crowd are screaming, one!!!!!..............two!!..............shoulder up at the last moment!
RW: Holy crap, no one ever gets out of that!
Kyle cannot believe it, he just stares at Jude, wondering what he has to do to pin him. Kyle gets up and as he does, Jude does too and spears Kyle!
Jude and Kyle are both down, both breathing heavily. Kyle starts t come around a the crowd are all yelling and screaming. Jude starts t come around a well. Slowly both guys get up. Kyle lunges a Jude but Jude steps t the side and brings out his arm a he clothesline Kyle. Jude now weary and tired waits o Kyle a Kyle i getting up, Jude runs and completes a bulldog! Jude draps a tired arm over Kyle a the ref counts 1….2….kickout b Kyle!
JC: We almost had a new world champ there.
Kyle and Jude are barely moving at this point. Jude waits on Kyle, Kyle slowly gets over, Jude with a Kick then an double hooked DDT! The crowd cheer as Jude grabs a leg and old school pin on Kyle. 1……2…..kickout by Kyle, Jude covers again 1…….2…..shoulder up!
RW: Its not gonna happen, Kyle will not lose!
Jude climbs up to the second rope and flies off with a guillotine leg drop. But he doesn’t cover this time. He just sits and looks at Kyle. Jude lifts up his foot and kicks Kyle right on the throat closing the windpipe as Kyle is struggling for air.
JC: Now Jude is going out of box now, using not so legal moves.
Jude grabs Kyles legs and locks in a figure four leg lock. Kyle screams in pain as the crowd are loving every moment of this match.
RW: I have to say this match is definitely living up to the hype. This could easily have been main eventing a ppv. And it should have been main eventing a ppv.
JC: This is by far Kyle’s greatest match aside from the legendary Holy Wars in which he was one of the few men still in the ring with Sorik and the immortal Legion.
RW: We were both there that night for that match. It is something I will never forget.
JC: Agreed, it is a milestone and Kyle is still the only one active that was in that match.
Jude is applying pressure to Kyle now. The ref keeps asking him if he gives up, he keeps shaking his head no! no! no!
JC: Incredible will power by Kyle
RW: And all those years of wrestling and his pain threshold has grown exponentially.
JC: Basically the man can withstand allot more pain than others.
Kyle is trying to roll Jude over, trying but no go. Jude has too good a position on Kyle. Jude keeps applying pressure to both point of feet, each time Kyle screaming in agony.
RW: This cant go on for too long, his legs will snap and the ref will call the match an end.
Judes sweat drenched leg slips but a millimeter and Kyle is able to break free of the hold as he grabs hold of the ropes. Jude advances on Kyle without mercy but the ref steps in reminding Jude that no one may engage while a wrestler is in the ropes.
Kyle slowly gets up hobbling. And holding his right knee. He tries to put weight on it but his knee buckles. Jude stares on without emotion as Kyle lets go of the ropes Jude flies at him with a lariat but Kyle falls inadvertently and Jude hits himself in the corner, hurting his left shoulder. Both men are now down and both injured.
RW: Match of the month right here John?
JC: Without a doubt, hell this is easily a front runner for match of the year.
The fans are clapping and cheering on both competitors. Slowly they get up. Jude takes a step back as Kyle stands very still. They lock up, but such a test of strength is futile at this point, both men are worn out. Jude having more currently nails Kyle with a knee to the stomach followed it up by a neckbreaker, Jude covers Kyle and we hear the ref and crowd count One!.........Two!...........shoulder up!
RW: I cant believe it! I just cant believe it.
JC: Neither can Jude.
Jude picks up Kyle and hits his Divine Intervention.
RW: I think this is it!
Jude covers and the count starts…. 1…………….2………………..shoulder up!
JC: oh my g………
Jude picks up Kyle and climbs the ropes..
RW: Is he going to…
JC: Yeah I think so, a Divine Intervention off the top rope. I don’t think such a thing has ever been attemptend, basically his move is an inverted slingshot suplex, and from that altitude and speed, this would destroy Kyle and more than likely hurt Jude almost as bad.
At the top again Kyle is punching and clawing at Jude, both of them at the top now exchanging fists. Kyle pushes Jude off it but Jude grabs Kyle by the neck and both men go over the top and land on the cement outside the ring!
RW: That’s it call the paramedics these guys are done!
But no sooner is that said than we see Jude start to get up. The ref is counting 1……….2……
Jude just looks at Kyle …….3………4…..
Jude looks at the knocked out Kyle and then the ring. …5…..6……
RW: Whats Jude doing? Kyle is out cold, grab him and put him in the ring!!
7……….Jude jumps back in the ring….8……Kyle starts to come around……..9…………..Kyle is standing up….10!......He gets in the ring a second too late. Jude stands over the tired and wary Kyle Murphy. Jude kneels beside Kyle, he is smiling.
Winner: Saint Jude
RW: I don’t understand.
JC: Think back Randy, 5 years ago today.
RW: Huh.
JC: It was 5 years ago today, when our first ever SFT Champion Mad Dogg in his 3 match since winning the title had a match against Legion. Legion never cared for Titles and he defeated Mad Dogg in the ring. Not just beat him, but pinned him 1,2,3!
RW: Yeah I remember that, it was a great match.
JC: Now several years later Saint Jude stands in the same ring.
Ending
Jude helps up Kyle as both men raise their arms to the crowd applauding.
The ref comes over hands Kyle the Title, he promptly puts it on Judes right shoulder. Jude grabs the title, gives it a kiss and lifts it up in the air. The crowd are chaning his name. Jude then takes the title and puts it back on its rightful owner. Kyle and Jude raise their arms as the crowd continue to cheer what has turned out to be one of the best matches not just in recent memory but in recent years.
RW: Well not quite sure what to make of this match. Jude won the match technically via countout, so a moral victory for him in many ways.
JC: But with such a win Kyle Murphy was never pinned for the 3 count in the ring and so he retains the SFT World Title.
RW: I think most who remember Legion, would say…..It is as it should be.
JC: Definitely. Good night folks and god bless!
