War Opening

As "Wake Up" by Rage Against The Machine plays through out the arena, Green, Blue, Red, and many other colors of pyro fire off toward the ceiling of the Blockbuster Desert Sky Pavillion. The cameras pan around showing the screaming crowd. We go ringside to the announcers table where Randy and John are sitting.

Match Number One
Question Mark vs. Terrific Jay Thomas
Standard Match

RW: Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Randy White, and the man sitting along side me is John Cartwright, and we welcome you to another action packed edition of SFT’s Wednesday Night War.

JC: We’ve got a great looking show lined up for you tonight, topped off by what is sure to be a brutal match between Manix and Grizzly Z with the SFT Hardcore Championship at stake.

RW: That’s coming up later on, but the action starts right here. First up we have a match between two young stars here in SFT, both looking to make a name for themselves. They are the mysterious Question Mark and a man going by the name of “Terrific” Jay Thomas. Both men are in the ring, so lets get it started.

The opening bell sounds, but before either Thomas or Question Mark can make a move, the arena is plunged into darkness as the familiar sound of Korn’s “Shoots And Ladders” plays over the PA System and the words “Dead Pac” show up on the video screen.

RW: What the hell is this?

JC: No idea, but it’s bad news for those two rookies, I suggest they get out of there pretty damn quick.

The arena lights come back on as Thomas and Question Mark look up the ramp in confusion, not realising that Redd and Angel Of Death from the Dead Pac are standing behind them. Without warning, they rip into the two unfortunate rookies and quickly send them to the mat before teaming to deliver further punishment. Redd picks up Thomas in a piledriver position, and AoD climbs to the second turnbuckle to combine with his partner for a spike piledriver which bounces Thomas’ head off of the mat with a sickening thud.

RW: My God, someone stop this, this is goddamned brutality, a seemingly completely random attack!

Turning their attention to Question Mark, Redd grabs a steel chair from the outside of the ring while AoD holds the rookie in place. Releasing his grip just at the right time, AoD moves out of the way as Redd drills Question Mark with a brutal chair shot across the skull. Seemingly contented at what they have done, the two Dead Pac members survey their handiwork for a second or two before sliding out of the ring and up the ramp as EMT’s rush past them to help the two men in the ring, both of whom are out cold in pools of their own blood.

Winner: No Contest

Segment

The scene changes as we head backstage, finding ourselves outside of a door with a plaque on it, which reads “SFT Talent Relations Department”. The door swings open to reveal a tall, blond haired man with his back to us, watching what has just happened on a TV monitor. The man turns around to reveal former SFT World Heavyweight, Intercontinental and World Television Champion Christian Cage, who is smartly attired in a black suit and open neck white shirt, as well as his trademark designer shades. Cage still looks to be in remarkable physical shape for a man who hasn’t wrestled in 6 months. But tonight it seems that he is here to talk, not fight.

Christian Cage: Well I guess that’ll teach those two rookies a thing or two, huh? For those who don’t know me, my name is Christian Cage, and I am the new Talent Relations Officer here in SFT, with my main base being right here on Wednesday Night War.

Basically, my job is to deal with any problems that the wrestlers here are having, and similarly with any problems that my fellow staff or I may have with any of the wrestlers. What you just saw there was the first example of my “handiwork” and I don’t intend on it being the last, but I do expect it to be the last time that we see either of those two in an SFT ring.

RW: Do I understand that it was Cage who set the Dead Pac on those rookies? What did they ever do to him?

Christian Cage: I just hope, of course, that we won’t have to see incidents like that too often around here. Anyway, enjoy the rest of the night, and expect to see a whole lot more of me in the coming weeks and months…

Match Number Two
Venom vs. Precious
Standard Match

As the intro to "Get Back" by Ludacris begins, the lights dim, green and white lights flash around the arena. The words Trust and Believe apear on the titon tron as Venom appears at the top of the ramp. The lights begin to flash to the beat of "Get Back", as Venom makes his way to the ring.

AS Im good at being badd Plays Precious comes out wearing black latex outfits or white outfits as the fans cheer for her she slides in under the bottom rope and poses in the ring..

Precious goes for a rush on Venom. He ducks, Venom had taken advantage of the early offensive, and had gotten Precious down to one knee. Venom began to grow more and more confident as each Overhand Chop he landed to Precious' chest caused the ring to tremble. So confident, that when Precious began to stagger a little more, he picked up the woman, and Irish Whipped her into the opposite ropes. The crowd popped like mad, as she bounced back and took him down with a huge clothsline! She taunts over him for a moment.

RW: What an egomaniac...

JC: Coming from Mr. Over-inflated Head himself...

RW: HEY!

JC: If you two don't mind, I think Precious may be going in for the kill already...

Precious pulls Venom up, she goes for a huge DDT but Venom Pushese her back as he staggers to his feet!

RW: Venom showing he's not out of this contest yet.

JC: Well, Venom must have learned soemthing from his battles with Nirvana. You never let your opponent see you weak, it's a mental thing.

RW: I can agree with you there.

Venom begins viciously clubbing Precious across the back, forcing her down to the mat in her own corner, then stomps on the back of her head, before turning and going for a pin.

KICKOUT!

Venom pulls Precious to her feet by her left arm and wrenches it around for an arm wringer, then slams his own shoulder into her shoulder, adding to the damage already down. He buries his knee into her mid-section, forcing her to double up in pain, then drives the point of his elbow into Precious' shoulder

JC:Unrelenting.

RW: Don't coubt precious out yet!

Just as he says that, Precious quickly comes to her sense and low blows Venom! Venom falls to his knees from the force and Precious roundhouse kicks him in the side of the head. He applies a chokehold, the ref rushes in to stop her. She attempts to fight off the ref, but he finaly pulls her off. As shes arguing with the red, Venom goes for a clothesline to Precious. She hears him coming and ducks! Venom attacks empty air!

JC: What a battle! You really have to give it to these two.

Venom slowly advances on Precious, causing her to shuffle backward on the mat right into the corner, then climb to her feet as he tries to put as much distance as possible between herself and Venom. Trapped in the corner, Precious tries to protect herself by covering her face, but to no avail as Venom crushes him with an avalanching clothesline. He leads Precious out of the corner and applies a front waistlock, then slams herinto the mat with a side belly-to-belly suplex, hooking the near leg for a pin attempt.

Backstage Regina Eisley is storming through the dressing rooms, kicking doors down, angrily searching for Brickcity “B.” Armed with a crowbar, she barrels around a corner and slams into something solid. Looking up she finds that she is nose to chest with Grizzly Z.

Her rage dissipates a little when she sees him, and the furious look on his face softens a bit when he realizes who he’s run into.

“Hi,” she murmurs.

“Hi,” he replies, almost shyly. An awkward silence pervades the hallway as they both shift their weight. It’s like watching two teenagers on their first date.

“I never got to-”

“I just wanted to-” they start to say at the same time, then both stop and laugh nervously.

“Go ahead,” Z prompts.

She hesitates a moment before speaking. “Well...I never got to thank you for taking out Sean Mason after my match with him.”

“It was no problem. I mean, I didn’t figure you needed the help, but, well… y’know.” He trails off, obviously unclear as to what else to say, and she looks at him as if she doesn’t actually know, but is going to pretend she does anyway.

“What were you going to say?” she asks.

“Oh, I just wanted to congratulate you on winning the TV title,” he says. “Quite an accomplishment.”

“Thanks,” she replies. Then, remembering her mission, her face hardens and she raises the crowbar. “Have you seen Brickcity ‘B?’”

He shakes his head. “I think he was heading to the ring, isn’t his match next?”

“Right,” she nods and moves passed him. He starts to turn the corner when she calls to him.

“Z?”

He turns.

“Good luck against Manix.” She smiles at him, a wide, ingenuous kind of smile that almost makes him visibly melt.

“Thanks.” His return smile is oddly gentle for the big man.

He turns to leave, but Regina calls out once more.

"Oh and Z?"

"Yes?"

He turns to her again.

"What's your real name?" she asks.

"Zion." He replies.

A smile makes its way across Regina's face. "Zion...I'll keep that in mind."

Before Z can respond, Regina turns and they both go their separate ways.

RW: It’s like a trainwreck.

JC: Or a plane crash.

RW: It’s horrible and yet you can’t look away.

Match Number Three
BrickCity B vs. Kamikaze
Submission Match

RW: And for our third match of the night, we bring you the rising newcomer Brickcity “B” against the talented Kamikaze in a submission match.

(As the fans settle in there seats, the lights go dim… Green lights appear and illuminate the ramp all the way down to the ring. People begin to look towards the entrance way. Suddenly, Rage against the Machine’s BULLS ON PARADE begins to blare over the arena speakers… Fans get to their feet and Brickcity “B” makes his way from behind the curtain. It takes the fans a moment to realize who it is, but once they do… They erupt in cheers! Well, some errupt in cheers... Others BOO frantically... Brickcity hops into the ring, he takes a look around and smirks as the fans gaze in amazement.)

JC: I hate that guy.

(The Gong is struck and the lights all over the arena become colorful with all the colors of the rainbow. "Original Prankster" By The Offspring starts playing and the lights start to swirl around in rythym to the beat. On "Until the break of dawn" Kamikaze bursts out from the back…erm or we thought it was Kamikaze. A seemingly large panda is walking slowly from the back towards the ring. With a big arm he heaves it up and down waving towards the crowd. In his other hand is a large bamboo stick which he is pretending to eat with his fake mouth. The crowd is laughing hysterically at this unexpected event. The panda Kamikaze rolls into the ring and sits on his butt.)

RW: Brickcity doesn’t have a clue of what’s going on!

(Brickcity frantically looks around him expecting the real Kamikaze to attack him from behind. When no one comes B looks back at the panda and asks for a microphone.)

“B”: Are you actually telling me that you’re wrestling in that…that thing?

(The panda Kamikaze looks around, shrugs his shoulders and nods his head. Brickcity bursts into a laughing fit.)

“B”: You’ve got to be kidding me. What a cack!

(Brickcity charges the still sitting panda Kamikaze and attempts to kick him in the large panda head. Kami quickly rolls causing “B” to rack himself on the second rope. The panda paces the ring pounding his large hands across his chest and pointing to the crowd. B staggers back to his regular composure and charges the panda Kamikaze. Kami turns around to be it with a monster clothesline from the angered Brickcity. )

JC: Ahh! Someone call PETA!

(Brickcity picks Kami up by his fake panda bear head and gives him a hard right cross which causes the panda head to spin backwards. Kami stammers around and places his hands on his mask in an attempt to fix it. B takes advantage and connects with a standing dropkick to the face or rather back of the mask of Kamikaze. On the ground Kami fixes his mask as Brickcity steps on the bottom rope and looks towards the fans. B walks back over and places his hands on top of the panda bear head in an effort to pick him up. Kami slaps his hands away, curls into a ball and rolls behind Brickcity. This is immediately followed by a mule kick to the bottom of Brickcity sending him flying forward. The crowd roars in laughter.)

RW: “B” is not gonna like being handled like this by an erk…panda.

(The panda Kamikaze lumbers his way towards Brickcity who is slowly getting to his feet. Kami grabs Brickcity’s head and hit’s a hard snap DDT placing him just in front of the turnbuckle. Kami throws a large paw into the air and hops to the top rope with considerable ease. At the top he beats his chest and jumps off connecting with a fantastic…Shooting Panda Splash. Kami goes for the cover but the ref just stands there. Panda shakes his paw at the ref who explains that it’s been changed to a submission match. Panda Kami smacks his fake head with a large paw and gets to his feet. He hoists Brickcity up from the mat and paw slaps him a few times into the turnbuckle. Kami whips B towards and opposite turnbuckle and follows closely behind. B touches turnbuckle and vaults himself over and behind the charging panda who connects hard with the turnbuckle with a botched Panda Splash. B goes for a school boy but the referee just stands there. After a second B releases the hold. Kami Panda's head is on backwards and he stumbles around trying to fix it. After a second B kicks Kami Panda in the stomach then follows up by slamming his head into his knee. B charges at him but Kami Panda unknowingly evades the move. B hits the corner turnbuckle. Kami Panda quickly turns his head back then hits the Kamikaze Korkscrew. Kami Panda helps B to his feet then whips hit against the ropes. As B approaches him Kami Panda puts the Kamikaze Krab on him. B struggles to get to the ropes but Kami Panda is able to keep him in the middle. After a minute B taps out.

Winner: Kamikaze

The lights go out and then Red sirens go off. "I am Invincible!!!" "Invincible" by Static X blasts over the arena's P.A. system as out steps "The ICON" Sean Mason appears to an enormous crowd reaction of boos. Sean wastes no time getting a steel chair and getting inside the ring. He nails Kamikazi three times across the head. Sending Kamikazi down to the ground Mason Drops the chair and picks Kamikazi up

And delivers “The Last Shot” to Kamikazi on the chair. Blood is pouring out of Kamikazi forehead! Mason calls for a mic.

Sean: History lesson for you people! What is this about well lets just say its payback. You see I was offered an invitation to join Holocaust a few weeks ago but I declined it. So a few days ago they came down and attacked me and my wife Kayleigh after her match. Now I wouldn’t be upset if they would have just attacked me. But once they laid their dirty paws on Kayleigh that sent me over the edge.

Sean looks down at Kamikazi’s body and smiles. Then spits on Kamikazi’s face.

Sean: Nirvana, Havoc, Holocaust let this be known soon you two will witness the same pain that Kamikazi just felt.

Kayleigh then comes down out to the ring. Sean picks Kamikazi up Kayleigh then executes Widows peak on Kamikazi Sean grabs Kayleigh and they leave through the crowd.

Match Number Four
Regina Eisley vs. Johnny Legend
Standard Non-Title Match

The arena darkens slightly as a purple spotlight shines brightly on the stage. Images of Regina Eisley flash quickly over the big screen just as "Here Is No Why" hits the stereo system. Regina herself appears at the top of the ramp while purple mist slowly begins to rise behind her. She struts down the ramp waving and smiling at the crowd, all the while tipping her hat to them. Regina then climbs the steel steps and is assisted by the referee when she enters through the middle and bottom ropes. From there, she removes her fedora and black business jacket and waits patiently in her corner for the match to begin.

"Creep" by Radiohead slowly fades in - a voice comes on and says, "Bow Down Blockheads!"

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Fireworks go off ontop of the ramp. "Creep" by Radiohead really kicks in, as the mist slowly fades away from the fireworks. Suddenly, Johnny Legend walks through the mist. Sporting flashy purple tights and jacket... Johnny Legend rubs his Intercontinental title, as he stands ontop of the ramp.

"Coming down to the ring at this time, (Legend walks down the ramp) weighing in at 200 pounds, hailing from Fire Island, New York... JOHNNY LEGEND!" Amanda Summers says into the mic.

Johnny Legend slowly walks up the steps, and gives a few words to the fans... Some unkind words. He then gets into the ring and steps into the middle... Fireworks burst to the sides of the ring - Legend turns slowly around in a full circle and shows his winning smile. The mist clears after a few seconds, and Johnny Legend takes his jacket off - then his Intercontinental title, which he just tosses to the ringside staff. Legend then awaits his opponent.

RW: Here go with a unique opportunity to see the television champion versus the intercontinental champion.

Legend and Eisley lock up but Legend gets the advantage whipping Eisley against the ropes. Legend goes for a clothesline but Eisley ducks the move. Eisley comes off the opposing rope going for a clothesline but Legend ducks the maneuver. Eisley comes off the opposing rope but is hit with a kick to the stomach by Legend. Legend quickly follows up by taking Regina by the hair and pulling her towards a corner. Legend then takes the head and bounces it off the top turnbuckle multiple times. After a dozen Legend releases the hold and Regina stumbles backwards. Legend quickly puts himself on the second rope jumping off hitting a clothesline on Regina. Legend follows up with a pinfall.

2…

Kick-out!!!

RW: Legend is showing his expierence trying to end this early.

CW: More like his cockiness.

Legend quickly gets to his feet then helps Regina to her feet. Eisley quickly hits some elbows to the stomach of Legend. Legend counters with some punches but Eisley hits a menacing elbow to the stomach and he falls to his knees. Eisley quickly hits a roundhouse kick to the chin of Legend. Eisley tries to help Legend to his feet but Legend slumps unable to get to his feet. After a couple of seconds Regina is able to get Legend to his feet. Regina steps back and goes for a superkick but Legend catches Regina’s foot. Legend quickly maneuvers Regina into an ankle lock. Regina is able to quickly get to the ropes but Legend quickly drags Regina into the center of the ring. Legend then releases the ankle lock and hits an elbow drop to the back of Regina’s head. Legend then follows up with a crossface before Legend can fully put it in Regina flips Legend over into a pinning perdiciment.

1…

Kick-out!!!

Regina and Legend both get up at the same time and both back up into opposing corners. Legend suddenly charges at Regina but she dodges the charges forcing him into the corner. Regina hits some jabs to the face before hitting a stunning haymaker. Regina puts Legend on the top rope as she stops for a second occasionally to hit a punch. Legend is able to force Regina away with a hard headbutt. Legend waits on the top turnbuckle for Regina to position herself towards Legend. Once she does, Legend leaps off the top rope attempting to hit a flying clothesline but Regina hits a spinning roundhouse kick. Regina follows up with a pin.

1…

2…

Kickout!!!

JC: What a back and forth match. No matter, who wins both can definitely know they did their best.

Regina gets to her feet first. She waits as Legend is on his knees. After a second Regina runs at attempting to hit shattered glass but Legend ducks. Legend quickly pops to his feet. Once he does Regina quickly follows suit, Legend then hits the Resolution right on the chin of Regina. Legend follows up with the pin.

Winner: Johnny Legend

Match Number Five
Grizzly Z vs. Manix
Hardcore Title Match

RW: Right now it’s time for our Main Event folks, and we’ve got Championship action for you tonight. It’s Grizzly Z against Manix for the SFT Hardcore Championship.

JC: Don’t forget though Randy, it’s not just about the belt for these two guys. Both of them hail from the same city, St. Paul, MN, so you have to figure that there’s the issue of local bragging rights here that’s just as important to these to, if not more so, than the belt itself.

RW: It’s just another factor that’s gonna contribute to this being on hell of a match here on War, so without further ado, lets send it up to our ring announ…

JC (interrupting): Wait a minute Randy, I’m just hearing that we’re going backstage right now, as it seems that these two couldn’t wait for the opening bell to get at each other.

The camera cuts to the backstage area here, just as John Cartwright said, Manix and Grizzly are already brawling just behind the curtain leading through into the arena.

JC: From what we’re hearing folks, Manix nailed Grizzly Z from behind while Grizzly was waiting to make his entrance into the arena.

RW: I guess that Manix wanted to get any advantage he can to help him hold onto his belt. Grizzly Z has a huge height and weight advantage going into this, so I guess Manix wanted to try to counteract that any way he can.

Manix has managed to knock Grizzly Z to the floor, face down, and his pounding him with about 10-15 unanswered shots to the back of the head, with Grizzly doing everything he can to try to block the incoming assault. Finally, Grizzly manages to climb onto his knees, with the smaller Manix still hanging onto his back. Putting his arm around Manix’ neck, Grizzly flips the Hardcore Champion over his shoulder and sends him crashing to the concrete.

The bigger man uses this opportunity to climb to his feet and survey the scene around him, trying to see if there’s anything he can use to his advantage, being is this is an anything-goes rules match. Not immediately seeing anything, Grizzly instead uses his own body as the weapon, crashing down on Manix, who is still on the floor, with a leg drop.

RW: We’ve seen before how much punishment Manix can take in a match and yet still find a way to win, in fact it’s a major reason why he’s the Hardcore Champion in the first place, but you just have to question whether even someone as tough as him can withstand a sustained assault from a 6’8’’, 340lb monster like Grizzly Z, especially in this kind of match.

JC: The one advantage Manix may have would come into play if he can somehow get this match into the ring itself, because between those ropes, Manix is right up there with the best technical wrestlers in SFT right now, and that’s something that we haven’t seen from Grizzly Z as of yet in his time here. Even though it’s a hardcore match, if Manix can get the opportunity to use some of his technical skill, it could be a big turning point in his favour.

RW: That’s very true, but as you said, for that to be truly effective, he needs to get the match into the ring. As it stands right now, that little sneak attack of his seems to have been a huge early mistake on the part of the champion, and it’s played right into Grizzly Z’s hands.

Spotting a steel chair out of the corner of his eye, Grizzly Z waits for Manix to climb to his feet before swinging it at his head with evil intentions in his mind. Thankfully for Manix, he has the wherewithal to duck the swing, and there is a resounding thud of steel on brick as the chair collides with the nearest wall.

RW: Grizzly Z could well have killed him if that had connected! He might have taken Manix’ head clean off of his shoulders!

While Grizzly Z is still slightly off balance, Manix connects with a desperation low blow, causing the giant to drop to his knees, and, possibly more dangerously, drop the steel chair as well. Noticing this, Manix picks up the weapon and makes his own attempt as doing to Grizzly Z what was so nearly done to him just moments earlier. Grizzly manages to duck the main impact of the swing, but the chair still strikes a glancing blow across his forehead, causing a laceration right on the hairline.

JC: Manix just busted his challenger open, Grizzly Z should be thankful that was the worst that happened on that swing!

Grizzly rubs his hand across his head and feels his own blood on his fingers. As he does this, you can almost see the evil thoughts of revenge forming in his mind. Hauling himself to his feet, Grizzly stalks towards Manix, who by now has picked up his Hardcore Championship belt and is stumbling towards the main arena, with the idea of taking the fight into the ring itself.

Grizzly pauses for a second or two before charging full speed at Manix with his arm outstretched. There is an audible thud as Grizzly Z’s arm smashes into the back of Manix’ head, sending the Champion sprawling across the floor with his head through the curtain to the arena as the Hardcore belt skids away in another direction.

RW: It really seems like Grizzly Z does wanna detach Manix’ head from his body, and with a few more shots like that, he might just succeed!

Manix stumbles to his feet, but Grizzly Z is behind him, waiting with the Hardcore Title belt in his hands. As Manix turns, Grizzly swings at him with the belt, but Manix ducks and hits a DDT out of nowhere to buy himself some time. Picking up his belt, he moves through the curtain and into the arena itself, this time turning and waiting for his challenger to follow him, refusing to get caught off-guard again.

As the big man moves through the curtain as well, Manix uses his speed advantage to take his challenger to the floor with a quick single-leg takedown. Taking advantage while the challenger is down, Manix grabs the title belt and sprints as best he can down the ramp, throwing the belt into the ring while he looks under the apron for something to help him out.

Unbeknownst to Manix though, Grizzly Z is up far quick than he had anticipated and is making his own way down the ramp while Manix is still rummaging underneath the ring. The Hardcore Champion finally finds something to his satisfaction, a trash can lid, and stands up with it, not realising that by now, Grizzly is virtually breathing down his neck. Manix swings round and the look of shock on his face is clear to see as he swings the lid at Grizzly’s head in desperation. Unluckily for him, the swing is so un-coordinated that Grizzly Z has no difficulty whatsoever in swatting the lid away like he would a fly. Shoving Manix up against the ring apron, Grizzly nails him with a few sharp left hands before rolling him into the ring and following him.

As Grizzly rolls into the ring, Manix once again tries to steal a quick advantage by throwing sharp, accurate lefts and rights while the big man is still on his knees. With his challenger stumbling groggily in the centre of the ring, Manix backs up a step or two into the nearest corner to measure his next move. Grizzly Z climbs to his feet and Manix charges at him, trying for a superkick, but the big man ducks Manix’ foot and instead sends him crashing back into the turnbuckles with a spear.

RW: My God, that shook the whole damn ring! You could hear the impact of that one right back in the cheap seats!

JC: Manix has gotta be pretty busted up inside from that, I’d be amazed if there aren’t broken ribs.

Sensing an opportunity to put the match away, Grizzly Z picks up the Hardcore Title belt and lays it out flat in the centre of the ring before turning and grabbing the groggy Manix from where he still is, slumped against the turnbuckles after the impact of the spear. Putting Manix’ head between his legs, Grizzly Z lifts him up into a power bomb position.

JC: My God, I think he’s gonna power bomb Manix onto his own Championship belt! Think about the damage that could do to his spine, not to mention to his chances of winning this match.

Unfortunately, Grizzly hesitates for just a split second too long, and Manix is able to counter the attempted power bomb into a DDT, sending Grizzly Z’s head bouncing off of the championship belt instead. Manix rolls out of the ring to catch his breath. And Grizzly Z rolls over onto his back, revealing that the impact of the DDT has further opened his earlier laceration, and a close-up shot shows specks of his blood right across the Hardcore Title belt.

Manix waits outside the ring, taking every valuable second that he can to get his breath back while the monster tries to recover inside. Slowly, Grizzly climbs back to his feet, wiping his blood, which by now is streaming down his face, out of his eyes as he climbs out of the ring in pursuit of Manix, who, quite sensibly, is staying moving, trying to tire the big man out.

JC: I wouldn’t wanna be Manix if Grizzly Z does manage to catch him, judging by the look on his face, that man has evil intentions on his mind.

RW: I have to say, I like Manix’ strategy here, it plays to his strengths, and that’s what he’s got to do if he still wants to be Hardcore Champion at the end of all this.

After almost chasing each other around the ring a few times, Grizzly Z stops, looking exhausted, which gives Manix the confidence to approach and try to capitalise on his apparent advantage. Unfortunately though, Grizzly is wise to this and grabs Manix as soon as he is within arms reach before launching him with as much force as he can muster into the nearest corner post. Manix this the post face first and crumples to the floor in a heap.

JC: I guess Grizzly Z was smarter than Manix gave him credit for, He knew he couldn’t catch him, so he played possum, and Manix walked right into the trap.

RW: It’s mistakes like that which can cost people matches and titles, and it could cost Manix big-time right here.

Sensing that victory could be within his grasp, Grizzly lifts the deadweight Manix up onto his shoulders.

RW: My God, no! Don’t do this, that’s a thin mat between these guys and the concrete floor underneath, and Grizzly Z is setting up for his trademark move, which he calls The Maul! If he hits this, we got ourselves a new Hardcore Champion!

Pausing only briefly to wipe the blood from his eyes, Grizzly then drill Manix’ head into the floor with his variation of the Reverse DVD or Burning Hammer. As Grizzly steps back from his opponent, we can see that now Manix too is bleeding heavily from a cut on his forehead, which may also in part have been caused by his earlier collision with the ring post.

Instead of going for the immediate cover though, Grizzly seems to have something else on his mind as he rolls the battered and broken Champion into the ring. Positioning Manix, Grizzly climbs up the turnbuckles, facing away from the ring. The prone Manix, his head lying in a swiftly forming pool of his own blood is blissfully unaware of what is about to happen to him.

JC: Is he gonna do what I think he’s doing? How the hell does he have the energy for this after what these two men have been through?

RW: I have no idea John, but whatever the outcome, these two both deserve our respect when this is done.

Pausing once again to wipe the blood from his eyes, Grizzly launches himself backwards off the top turnbuckle with a picture perfect moonsault, his full weight crashing straight down onto Manix’ chest.

RW: Z-Sault! Z-Sault!

JC: That’s a 6’8’’, 340lb man, and he just crushed our Hardcore Champion with a perfect moonsault, that has gotta be the damndest thing I’ve ever seen.

Grizzly Z hooks the leg, although it’s entirely academic as the referee begins the count:

ONE!

TWO!

THREE!!

RW: He did it; Grizzly Z is the new SFT Hardcore Champion!

JC: He sure is, but I’m not sure how much he knows about it right now.

As John says this, the new Champion rolls off of his vanquished opponent and lays flat on his back as the referee raises his arm in the air and places the Hardcore title belt, specked with Grizzly’s own blood, across his chest.

Winner and NEW SFT Hardcore Champion: Grizzly Z

“Firefly” by Breaking Benjamin blasts over the PA System as the show draws to a close with both men laid out in the ring, both covered in their own blood and each others, as EMT’s run down the ramp to attend to them.

RW: For John Cartwright, I’m Randy White saying goodnight from another spectacular edition of SFT Wednesday Night War.

JC: Goodnight folks.

FADE2BLACK….

Winner: Grizzly Z
