Wednesday Night 10:00pm Live From Pueblo, New Mexico
Insert Arena

War Opening

As "Wake Up" by Rage Against The Machine plays through out the arena Green, Blue, Red, and many other colors of pyro fire off toward the ceiling of the Blockbuster Desert Sky Pavillion. The cameras pan around showing the screaming crowd. We go ringside to the announcers table where Phil and Steve are sitting.

Match Number One
Cowboy Jack Jones vs. Benny Navarro Jr
Standard Match

In Time starts and Cowboy Jack come to the ring shaking hands as he makes his way to the ring.

Phil: Well here comes the returning Jack Jones whose been consistent since returning

Benny Navarro comes down to the ring now with his TV title around his waist.

The bell rings as the action starts with Benny hitting a clothesline followed by a leg drop and goes for an elbow drop but Jack rolls out of the way. Jack gets up quickly and hits Benny with leg drop, he picks up Benny and nails a piledriver he gets a 2 count.

Steve: Jack is looking sharp tonight.

Cowboy hits his Out to Graze but doesn’t cover he picks up Benny and climbs the turnbuckle and hits his Bloody Steak as he covers 1,2,3!

Phil: Wow that was quick

Benny isn’t moving and appears to be hurt, Jack calls for the trainers to come down and they do as we go to commercial break with the trainers and paramedics checking on the injured Benny Navarro.

Winner: Jack Jones

Match Number Two
Richie Jones vs. Cheeky Joe
Rookie match

Steve: Already in the ring, we can see the two participants for our opening contest, which pits two rookies against each other, both looking to make a good impression on their SFT debuts.

Phil: That’s right, we have two guys about whom we know pretty much nothing, as wee see Richie Jones, who I believe is from Wales in the UK, taking on a man who calls himself Cheeky Joe.

Both competitors are in the ring, and both have slightly nervous looks on their faces as they await the opening bell. When it sounds, they both circle around, neither seeming to want to make the first move.

Steve: Looks like we have two very cautious athletes here, neither man seems to want to run the risk of making an early mistake here.

Phil: True, but if you’re too cautious, then you can give your opponent a good shot at taking what could be a crucial advantage.

Finally, it is Jones who seizes the initiative with a short snapping right hand which bounces off of the chin of Cheeky Joe, sending him briefly off-balance and causing him to stumble back a step or two. Looking to make the most of his opportunity, Jones Irish Whips his opponent into the ropes and catches him coming off with a basic back body drop.

Steve: Good elevation on the back body drop there from Jones, it looks like he has a good grasp of the fundamentals.

Jones looks to follow up with a leg drop, but gets nothing more than the mat as Joe manages to roll out of the way before standing up and connecting right across Jones’ throat with a leg drop of his own, following which he drags Jones to his feet and lifts him into a vertical suplex position, holding it for a few seconds before dropping Jones to the mat and following up with a cover:

ONE!

TWO!!

NO!!!

Jones manages to roll his left shoulder at 2, prompting Joe to remonstrate with the referee, claiming that it should have been the full three count. Jones attempts to use Joe’s complaining to his advantage by sneaking up behind his opponent and blasting him with a clubbing shot to the back of the neck, dropping him to his knees and allowing Jones to wade in with further punches and forearms before he can get his guard up.

Phil: We’re certainly seeing a lot of aggression here from this newcomer, he really looks to be taking control of this one.

Just as quickly as he had seized the advantage, Jones lets it slip by pausing for a second to admire his own handiwork, allowing Cheeky Joe the opportunity to fire back with some shots of his own, backing Jones into the nearest corner before virtually decapitating him with a vicious clothesline.

Steve: Typical rookie mistake there from Jones, he eased up for just an instant, and it may cost him big time.

Looking to repeat his earlier success, Joe once again lifts Jones into a vertical suplex position, but this time makes the mistake of holding his would-be victim in the air for just a split second too long, allowing Jones to shift his wait, land on his feet behind Joe and catch him off-guard with a quick roll-up:

ONE!

TWO!!

THREE!!!

The referee calls for the bell as Jones celebrates while an irate Joe pounds the canvas in frustration.

Steve: Great debut win for Richie Jones. He showed that there is a lot of work left to do for him to become the complete package, but the basics are most certainly there.

Phil: No doubt about it, and I very much doubt that we’ve seen the last of Cheeky Joe either. Despite coming up a little short tonight, he has shown that he may still have a hell of a future here in SFT. Tonight though, the glory goes to Richie Jones.

Winner: Richie Jones

Match Number Three
Connor MacDaddy vs. The Great Malinko
Matchtype

Phil: Main Event time, and what a Main Event it is going to be.

Steve: No mistake there, this should be one for the ages, as we see the man who has been burning a trail through the Hardcore division, Connor MacDaddy, taking on the man who, last week on Inferno, won the biggest prize that this sport has to offer in the shape of the SFT World Heavyweight Championship.

Phil: That of course is The Great Malinko, and it’s gonna be interesting to see what kind of physical condition our Champion is in after his War with Havoc last week.

Steve: In that respect, the advantage should lie firmly with Connor, as most of his matches lately have been pretty one-sided, to say the very least.

Phil: Somehow, I doubt that this one will be the same.

Steve: Enough talking, let’s get this going.

(The camera pans away from the commentators to show the Inferno Ring Announcer, Amanda Summers, who is standing in the centre of the ring with a spotlight shining down on her.)

Amanda Summers: Ladies and Gentlemen, it is now time for our Main Event of the evening, which is a non-title contest scheduled for one fall!

Introducing first, from Boston, Massachusetts, standing 6’7’’ tall and weighing 265lbs, he is the reigning SFT Hardcore Champion, CONNOR MACDADDY!!

(“Mack Daddy” by Sir Mix-A-Lot begins to blast over the PA System to huge cheers from the crowd in attendance, which only intensify as the trademark Red X pyro explodes over the entrance stage. As the song hits its first chorus, Connor MacDaddy makes his way out onto the stage with his Hardcore Title belt gleaming around his waist. As he makes his way down the ramp, Connor pauses periodically to give thumbs up to the ringside fans, all to even more huge cheers.)

(Connor slides underneath the bottom rope into the ring and climbs each of the four turnbuckles, making his trademark X-Sign at the top of each. Once he has climbed down from the last turnbuckles, Connor removes his title belt and hands it to the referee as he awaits the arrival of his opponent.)

Amanda Summers: His opponent, weighing in at…

(Before Amanda can finish her introduction, the opening notes of “The Broken” by Fireball Ministry blast over the PA System, to general confusion from everyone, particularly Connor, who is awaiting the arrival of Malinko in the ring.)

Phil: What the hell, this isn’t Malinko’s music!

Steve: Full marks for observation dumbass. You know whose music it is, right?

Phil: Of course, but what the hell would our Vice-President be doing here tonight?

Steve: Something tells me we may find out soon enough.

(As if on cue, SFT Vice-President Christian Cage strolls out onto the stage to a fairly mixed reaction from the crowd in attendance, which is an improvement on what he usually gets. Cage is clad in a black suit and shirt, and as always, is wearing designer shades, he has a heavy silver wristwatch around his left wrist, and is carrying a microphone in his left hand.)

Christian Cage: Cut the music! Cut the damn music!

(The music fades away, as per Cage’s request.)

Christian Cage: Thank you for your warm welcome just now. Now, as you may have heard, my show, Wednesday Night War, has gone on a little hiatus, so the SFT Board Of Directors has assigned me here, to Friday Night Inferno, so keep an eye on things, starting tonight. And what a start it is.

Christian Cage: Now, as I’m sure you can all see, I ain’t The Great Malinko, and anyone hoping that he’s coming out here anytime tonight are gonna be sadly disappointed, which I guess that includes you, huh Connor?

You see, Malinko wanted to fight tonight, that’s just the kind of great champion that he is, but unfortunately, the SFT Medical staff didn’t believe that it was appropriate for him to wrestle as he still isn’t anywhere near 100% after that war he had with Havoc last week. With a PPV just a few weeks away, it was decided that it wasn’t safe to risk our main attraction in such a comparatively minor match, so with that in mind, it was decided to give The Great Malinko the night off!

(The crowd reacts with anger at the sudden cancellation of their Main Event, and there are now boos raining down on Christian Cage from all around the arena).

Phil: Night off? What a crock of crap.

Christian Cage: There goes the warm welcome, huh? Now Connor, I can see that you’re a little pissed off, but unfortunately, that’s life, I did actually offer to take Malinko’s place tonight, but bearing in mind what’s happened the last two times that I faced you, it wouldn’t be too much of an attraction, nor would it make you look that good.

With that in mind, and believe me, it gives me no pleasure to do this, I declare that the winner of this match, by forfeit is Connor MacDaddy!

MacDaddy’s music starts up once again as Connor raises in his arms unenthusiastically in celebration of his rather hollow victory. Cage heads back to the locker room as Connor remains in the ring to end the show.

Winner: by Forfeit: Connor MacDaddy

War Closing

Steve: For Phil, I’m Steve saying goodnight from SFT Friday Night Inferno.

Phil: Goodnight folks.
